    OAKLAND CITY—Perry Central won 12 of 15 events as it dominated a girls triangular track meet Thursday.
    The Commodores scored 90.5 points, Heritage Hills 45.5, and Wood Memorial 20.
    The Commodores won all three relays.
    Marie Schwartz, Cathryn Peter, Megan Thomas and Grace James took the 3200 relay in 11:06.5.
    Jennifer Kemp, Sarah Spires, Ashley Gengelbach and Hannah Harpenau won the 400 relay in 55.72 seconds.
    Amber Lindauer, Spires, James and Allison Parker won the 1600 relay in 4:35.6.

    OAKLAND CITY—Andrew Huber and Austin LeClere each won four events as Perry Central cruised to victory in a boys triangular track meet Thursday.
    Perry Central scored 91 points, Heritage Hills 53, and Wood Memorial 11.
    Huber set a personal record as he won the 300-meter intermediate hurdles in 41.67 seconds.
    He won the 110 high hurdles in 16.28 and the high jump at 5 feet, 10 inches.
    He teamed with Levi Hilgenhold, Abe Schwartz and LeClere to win the 1600 relay in 3:39.5.

    TELL CITY—Austin Paulin went 3 for 3 and drove in three runs as Tell City trounced Tecumseh 15-3 in PAC baseball Wednesday.
    Paulin hit a two-run double and an RBI single in the Marksmen’s 10-run first inning.
    “Austin Paulin is hitting the biscuit out of it right now,” said Tell City Coach Jason Wilkerson.
    Casey May also had two hits that inning to drive in two runs.
    Brian Arnold walked and singled as he drove in two runs and scored two in the inning.

  • Commodores outshoot Jeeps by 32

    ENGLISH—Freshman Nic Pierrard tied for medalist as Perry Central beat Northeast Dubois 202-234 in boys golf Tuesday.
    Pierrard and Trey Foltz of Northeast Dubois each shot a 13-over-par 49.
    Pierrard recorded Perry Central’s only par of the day on the ninth hole.
    “It wasn’t a very good day for golf,” Perry Central Coach Bill Dickerson said of the cold, windy conditions.
    Nathan Bashor shot 50, James Rogier 51, and Nick Edwards 52 to complete Perry Central’s scoring.

  • Cannelton girls softball team...

    CANNELTON—Cannelton expected to have a young girls softball team this year but got even younger when Taylor Lawalin tore an anterior cruciate ligament in basketball and will thus miss her senior softball season.
    Her absence also means several Bulldogs will play new positions. “One player being out forced me to move several,” said Cannelton Coach Brian Garrett.

  • Wolfpack outhits Cannelton

    MARENGO—Crawford County had 10 hits, including four for extra bases, in a 12-2 baseball win over Cannelton Monday.
    Griswold hit a two-run triple in the first inning as the Wolfpack scored three runs.
    That proved to be all the runs they would need, but they later hit two home runs.
    Larry Holman pitched the first four innings for Cannelton to take the loss. He gave up five runs on four hits and four walks and struck out eight.
    “Larry threw real well,” said Cannelton Coach Mike Garrett. “He just had no help behind him.

    LINCOLN CITY—Tell City pitchers walked 10 batters in a 7-4 PAC baseball loss to Heritage Hills Tuesday.
    Starter Rhett Baumeister surrendered eight walks in two innings and was pulled in the third after throwing 67 pitches.
    The Patriots scored one run in each of the first two innings but left the bases loaded in both frames.
    With the bases full again and no outs in the top of the third, they finally put together a prolific inning.

  • Raiders defeat Tell City girls...

    TELL CITY—Logan Flannagan and Mariah Blake were Tell City’s only winners in a 94-33 girls track loss to Southridge Tuesday.
    Flannagan won the 300-meter low hurdles in 49.65 seconds.
    She placed second in the 110 intermediate hurdles in 17.47, seven-hundredths of a second behind the winner, and was also second in the high jump at 4 feet, 10 inches.
    Blake won the 400 dash in 1:07.06 and took second in the 800 in 2:46.2.
    Hannah Schaefer placed second in the 100 in 14.03 and in the 200 in 29.53.

  • Parker leads Perry Central girls...

    RAMSEY—Allison Parker won two sprints and the shot put to lead Perry Central past North Harrison 88-43 in girls track Tuesday.
    Parker won the 400-meter dash in 1:09.76 and teamed with Sarah Spires, Skylar Parker and Amber Lindauer to win the 1600 relay in 4:53.03.
    Sprinters usually aren’t successful in the throwing events but Allison Parker also won the shot put with a 29-foot-0 toss.
    Perry Central senior Cathryn Peter won the 3200 run in 12:41.07 and teamed with Jessica Theis, Megan Thomas and Marie Schwartz to win the 3200 relay in 11:20.05.

  • Perry Central rallies to defeat...

    CORYDON—Perry Central scored five runs in the seventh inning to beat Corydon 8-7 in baseball Tuesday.
    The Commodores won despite being outhit 14-9 for the game and having no extra-base hits.
    They had three hits in their big inning, a one-out single by Tanner Cassidy and RBI singles by Austin Linne and Alton Cummings after a walk to Andrew Mosby.
