FERDINAND—Tell City seniors Hayley Fackler and Morgan Schuetter were named to the All-PAC softball team in voting by conference coaches Wednesday.
They are the first Marksmen to make the team in six years. And this is the first time in the team’s 23-year history that Tell City had two players make all-conference.
Fackler, who played shortstop and caught, made the 15-girl team as one of its four infielders.

  • Fest, Tucker on to regional

JASPER—Tell City’s Spencer Fest and Perry Central’s Brennan Tucker qualified for the regional with their performances in the boys golf sectional at Sultan’s Run Friday.

  • It was good spring for local...

No Perry County team won a sectional this spring, but nearly all of them were competitive in their sectionals.
Perry Central’s softball team was the only one to grab at least a share of a conference title, as it tied for the PLAC crown. But again most of them were competitive in their conference races.
Most of the teams also improved from last year - some had their best record in several years - so on that basis I would judge this a successful season for the local teams.
Some would have been even more successful if not for injuries to key players.

Other Perry Central scorers were Brennan Tucker with 107, Braeden Etienne 113, and Liam Gogel 122.
Cole Johnson, the Com-modores fifth man, withdrew.

Bauer struck out seven and walked two. His teammates helped him by committing only one error and turning three double plays.

He tied for second place in the match, just four strokes behind medalist Dalton Pinter of Crawford County.
Behind James for Perry Central were Brennan Tucker with 52 and Lain Knieriem 53.
