PERRY COUNTY — Perry County citizens were concerned when they received their new property tax bills for 2023. This isn’t a segregated phenomenon. All of the country is seeing this and Indiana is no exception. There is luckily something that can be done and also some future relief for some homeowners.

According to the state of Indiana, every county must have a County Property Tax Assessment Board of Appeals (PTABOA). The Indiana Government states that if an individual receives a Form 11, they should initiate an appeal not later than 45 days after the date of the notice. If no Form 11 is sent, the tax bill serves as the notice of assessment and the individual should initiate an appeal not later than May 10 of the year or 45 days after the date of the tax bill, whichever is later.
