PERRY COUNTY — With the help from the Perry County United Way grant last year, Paddle Perry has initiated a program they’re calling the “Impact Program”. The program was created to unite us as a community, to learn from one another, to share diverse perspectives, and to do our part in keeping nature wild. The mission is to build community, practice better disposal methods, and educate about the importance of recycling. The program is available to any person, organization or group that wants to participate or organize a clean sweep. The purpose is to provide our community partners with the equipment and knowledge needed to leave places better.

So far this year, with the help of many community members (and even some folks from outside of our county) we’ve collected 3,511 pounds of trash from our local roadways, trails and waterways during organized clean sweeps.
