  • Macaraig – Basinger

    Sherryll Macaraig and Mike Basinger were united in marriage during an afternoon ceremony held Saturday, April 14, 2012, in Corona, N.Y.

    The bride is the daughter of Arsenio and Dorie Macaraig of Batangas City, Philippines. Mr. Basinger is the son of Evelyn Basinger of Tell City and the late Charles Basinger.

    The bride was given in marriage by her father during the ceremony officiated by Robert Llanillo.

    A reception was held after the ceremony at the Courtyard Marriott East in Elmhurt, N.Y.

  • Herrmann – Harper

    Kayla Herrmann and Aaron Harper of Cannelton announce their engagement and approaching marriage.

    The bride-elect is the daughter of Steve Herrmann and Belinda Ball, both of Tell City. She is a 2009 graduate of Perry Central High School and is currently attending Ivy Tech Community College for office administration. She works as a certified nursing assistant at Oakwood Health Campus.

  • RSVP fundraiser at Ponderosa Tuesday

    TELL CITY – Ponderosa Steakhouse invites the community to support Lincoln Hills Development Corp.’s Retired and Senior Volunteer Program during a fundraiser from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Ponderosa.

    The restaurant will donate 10 percent of each purchase that evening to the RSVP program. Those dining Tuesday must present a fundraiser flyer or mention RSVP to the cashier to donate.

  • Southern Indiana Republican golf scramble June 19

    ANTA CLAUS – The Southern Indiana Republicans of Dubois, Perry and Spencer counties will host a golf scramble June 19 at the Christmas Lake Golf Course.

    Shotgun start is set for 12:30 p.m.

    Cost is $100 for a single person registration and hole sponsorships are available for $100. Players will receive tee gifts, proximity prizes, team plaques, door prizes, on-course refreshments and an award dinner.

  • JFK Pool to open Sunday in Tell City

    TELL CITY – The JFK Pool in Tell City will open Sunday for the 2012 summer season. Hours for the pool will be Monday through Saturday, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday.

    Admission is $3 for anyone over 4 years old. Children 4 years and younger will be admitted for free. Pool passes are available at City Hall or at the pool. Cost is $40 for a book of 20 passes.

    The pool may be rented for private pool parties, with a $25 deposit required when the party is booked.

  • First Cannelton Miss Heritage Fest pageant details announced

    CANNELTON – During the 175th anniversary of the city of Cannelton and its annual Heritage Fest, the Cannelton Foundation will sponsor the inaugural Miss Heritage Fest Pageant at 10 a.m. Oct. 13 at the Covered Wagon in Cannelton.

    Winners will be crowned in each category and a trophy will be presented for each runner up.

    Categories are Miss, 7-to-9-year olds; Miss Pre-Teen, 10-to-12-year olds; Miss Teen, 13-to-15-year olds and Miss Heritage Fest, 16-to-19-year olds.

  • Contestants sought for Schweizer Fest Pageant

    TELL CITY – The first organizational meeting for this year’s Schweizer Fest pageant will be at 6 p.m. June 4 at the Evangelical United Church of Christ.

    Applications for contestants can be picked up at Cinderella’s, 922 Main Street in Tell City. Those wishing to compete must live or work in Perry County. Age groups are as follows: Princess, 9-to-11-year olds; Junior Miss, 12-to-15-year olds; Teen, 16-to-19-years old and Miss, 20-to-22-year olds.
