  • Benefit for Erin Owen set for July 26

    TELL CITY – A benefit for cancer patient Erin Owen will be from 6 to 10 p.m. July 26 at the Tell City Moose Lodge.
    Live music will be provided by Jeremy Luecke and Matt Schultz. The event will include a silent auction of items including two rounds of golf with a cart at Ben Hawes Golf Course; four rounds of golf at the Summit; two $25 gift cards to Golf Plus and much more.
    Owen was diagnosed with a fast-growing breast cancer called ductal carcinoma. In a few months, she is scheduled to undergo a bilateral mastectomy and chemotherapy.

    Vince and Katie Fields of Greer, S.C., announce the birth of their son, Luke Vinson Fields, Thursday, June 6, 2013, at St. Francis Hospital in Greenville, S.C.
    The infant weighed 7 pounds and was 19 3/4 inches long.
    Mrs. Fields is the former Katie Kress.
    Grandparents are Joe and Beverly Kress of Cannelton and the late Garry Fields and Janet Johnson.
    Great-grandparents are the late Victor and Marie Kress and Kenneth and Verna Poehlein.

  • City outlines 2013 paving projects

    TELL CITY – Limited funds will prevent the city of Tell City from paving all of the streets needing attention but J.H. Rudolph & Co. will pave sections of several streets this summer. 

  • Archer Graham Howes

    Brett and Brittany Howes of Tell City announce the birth of their son, Archer Graham Howes, Thursday, June 20, 2013, at Deaconess Women’s Hospital.
    The infant weighed 6 pounds, 4 ounces and was 20 1/2 inches long.
    Mrs. Howes is the former Brittany Baize. Archer has two older brothers, Riley Howes, 3 1/2 years and Zelan, 21 months.
    Grandparents are Kelly and Jeff Jones of Rome and Keith and Debbie Howes of Newburgh.

  • LaGrange – Potter

    Dan and Kathy LaGrange of Tell City announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Brooke Teresa LaGrange to Robert Evan Potter, son of Bob Potter and Jackie Kendall of Salem.

    The couple will be married Saturday, Sept. 28, 2013, at St. Paul Catholic Church in Tell City.
    Formal invitations will be sent.

  • Gebhard – Briggeman

    Bill and Vicki Gebhard of Tell City announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Tara Lynn Gebhard, to Jack Henry Briggeman, son of Harry and Kim Hawkins of Tell City.

    The bride-elect is a 2004 graduate of Tell City High School and a 2008 graduate of Ball State University with a bachelor’s degree. She earned her master’s degree in 2012 from the University of Cincinnati.
    She works as a women’s health nurse practitioner for the Ohio State University Medical Center in the gynecology-oncology division.

  • Jones – Meunier

    Brittany Jones and Kevin Meunier of Lamar announce their engagement and approaching marriage.

    The bride-elect is the daughter of Kenny and Kelly Jones of Lamar. She is a 2006 graduate of Heritage Hills High School and holds a bachelor’s degree in agriculture from Murray State University.
    She is an assistant at Dubois County Animal Hospital.
    Mr. Meunier is the son of Steven and Debbie Meunier of Lamar. He is a 1996 graduate of Heritage Hills High School and has an associate degree in HVAC and plumbing and pipefitting from Ivy Tech.

  • Sheriff gets raise, others get vehicles

    TELL CITY – The Perry County Council approved in a regular meeting June 27 a raise for County Sheriff Lee Chestnut and voted to fund some vehicle costs. 

    The sheriff’s pay is, by law, tied to that of the county prosecutor, Chestnut explained, and that state-paid official was given a raise.
