  • Claise – Carrico

    Katie Claise and Jacob Carrico were united in marriage during an afternoon ceremony Sunday, May 12, 2013, at the Country Plantation House in Greenville, Ky.

    The bride is the daughter of Mike and Trina Claise of Hawesville, Ky.  The groom is the son of Jim and Charolette Carrico of Derby.
    The outdoor ceremony was a double-ring.
    The couple honeymooned in Disney World in Florida.
    Mr. and Mrs. Carrico will reside in Owensboro, Ky.

  • Annual Friends of Library book sale Saturday

    TELL CITY – Friends of the Perry County Public Library will hold their annual book sale at the Tell City branch, 2328 Tell St., from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday. A special members-only pre-sale will be held from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Friday. Membership dues are $5 per year; forms are available at the library and will be accepted at the pre-sale.

  • Alexis Roselee Kratzer

    Nick and Kristel Kratzer of Derby announce the birth of their daughter, Alexis Roselee Kratzer, Friday, June 7, 2013, at Jasper Memorial Hospital.
    The infant weighed 6 pounds, 5 ounces and was 181/2 inches long.
    Mrs. Kratzer is the former Kristel Hess.
    Grandparents are Donald and Lynda Hess of Derby, Billie Faye and Jim Schwartz of Tell City and the late Albert Kratzer.
    Great-grandparents are James Rhodes of Leopold and the late Rosella Rhodes, Bill and Almada Hess, Estil and Louise Dawson and Lucy Kratzer.

  • June Ann Mieland

    Steven and Alecia Mieland of Wheaton, Ill., announce the birth of their daughter, June Ann Mieland, at 2:50 a.m. Thursday, July 11, 2013, at Central DuPage Hospital.
    The infant weighed 7 pounds, 1/2 ounces and was 20 inches long.
    Mrs. Mieland is the former Alecia Ouellette.
    Grandparents are Dora York of Tell City and Dennis and Marsha Pender of Palos Park, Ill.
     

  • Madison Grace Hall

    David and Ashley Hall of Tell City announce the birth of their daughter, Madison Grace Hall, at 7:39 a.m. Tuesday, June 4, 2013, at St. Mary’s.
    The infant weighed 6 pounds, 5 ounces and was 19 inches long.
    Mrs. Hall is the former Ashley Edwards. Madison has one sister, Kylee, 1.

  • Peter – McCallister

    Mark and Janet Peter of Tell City announce the en-gagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Tashia Peter, to Zach Mc-Callister, son of Jerry and Missy Craig of Tell City.

    The bride-elect is a 2006 graduate of Perry Central High School and a 2009 graduate of Ivy Tech Community College with a degree in medical assisting. She is a certified medical assistant at the Perry County Family Practice in Leopold.

  • Everly – Winters

    Leslie Everly and Matthew Winters of Tell City were united in marriage during an afternoon ceremony Saturday, April 20, 2013, at the First United Methodist Church in Tell City.

    The bride is the daughter of Jeff and Shari Everly of Tell City. Mr. Winters is the son of Harry and Norma Winters of Cannelton.
    The bride was given in marriage by her father during the double-ring ceremony, officiated by Pastor Andy Payton.

  • Republicans draw winners

    TELL CITY – The Perry County Republicans congratulate Amanda Lasher and Brian Suhrheinrich, who’s names were drawn for two gas cards. The two entered the contest at the Republicans’ booth at the Perry County 4-H Fair.

  • Sanders book signing during Schweizer Fest

    TELL CITY – Brett Alan Sanders, a retired Perry Central school teacher, writer and literary translator, will present at the Schweizer Fest today through Saturday. He will have copies of his books available for purchase and signing.
    His short historical novel for young adults, “A Bride Called Freedom,” is available for $15 in a bilingual edition; the first half of the book is written in English, the second half is translated into Spanish.

  • Roessler wins gas card

    Heath Roessler of St. Meinrad was the winner of a $50 gas gift card presented by Perry County Democrats as part of a contest conducted during the recent 4-H fair. The winning entry was chosen by Joe Mogan, son of Mandi Mogan.
