  • Seufert Construction expands engineering, design-build team

    FERDINAND – Seufert Construction has announced hiring of Andy Hagedorn as director of engineering and development. 

    Hagedorn, a native of Ferdinand, is a licensed professional engineer with previous experience working for INDOT and for the past seven years has served as director of facilities for Schneck Medical Center in Seymour.  
    Hagedorn will over-see the strategic  development and implementation of engineering, design and overall business growth initiatives for the company.

    Car show, carnival at Oakwood Friday
    TELL CITY – Oakwood Health Campus in Tell City will host a car show and carnival community event from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday.

  • Noted bowhunter, author to speak at library Saturday

    TELL CITY – Award-winning outdoor writer M.R. James, a member of the national Archery Hall of Fame and editor and founder of BowHunter Magazine, will be at the Perry County Public Library-Tell City branch from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Saturday.
    He will share personal hunting and writing stories, as well as offer advice, answer questions and sign copies of his latest book, “Hunting the Dream,” a memoir which takes readers on what he says is an unforgettable storybook journey from his small-town roots to his current role as national spokesman for archers.

  • Cub Scouts sign up Wednesday at WTE

    TELL CITY – Tell City Cub Scout Pack 192 will have sign ups for first- through fifth-grade boys at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the William Tell Elementary School café.

  • Luke David Blanchard

    Alicia and Paul Blanchard of Little Rock, Ark., announce the birth of their son, Luke David Blanchard, Thursday, Aug. 1, 2013, at Little Rock Baptist Hospital.
    The infant weighed 8 pounds, 5 ounces and was 21 1/2 inches long.
    Mrs. Blanchard is the former Alicia Schaefer. Luke has one older sister, Alexis, 1.
    Grandparents are Al and Vickie Schaefer of Tell City and Barbara and Paul Blanchard of Birmingham, Ala. Great-grandparents are Norma-Jean Brinksneader and Jeanette Schaefer.

  • Ryker Robert Poole

    Julie and Blain Poole of Noblesville announce the birth of their son, Ryker Robert Poole, Monday, July 1, 2013, at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Carmel.
    The infant was 9 pounds, 6 ounces and was 21 3/4 inches long.
    Grandparents are Nan and Mike DuPont and Steve and Mary Poole, all of rural Tell City. Great-grandparents are Vivian and Raphael DuPont and Betty Kessens of Tell City, and the late Tom and Shirley Rogier and Leo Kessens.

  • Carter – Tidwell

    Mandy Carter and Josh Tidwell of Bon Aqua, Tenn., announce their engagement and approaching marriage.

    The bride-elect is the daughter of Maurice and Mary Carter of Cannelton. She is a 2000 graduate of Perry Central High School, a 2005 graduate of Martin Methodist College and a 2009 graduate of Lipscomb University. She is a second-grade teacher at East Hickman Elementary School in Tennessee.

  • Kerstiens – Sitzman

    Nicole L. Kerstiens of Ferdinand and Wesley D. Sitzman of Bristow an-nounce their engagement and approaching marriage.

    The bride-elect is the daughter of Debbie Kerstiens of Ferdinand and the late Patrick Kerstiens. She graduated from Forest Park High School in 2009 and the University of Southern Indiana in 2013. She is employed as a registered nurse at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh.

  • Briggeman – Sabelhaus

    Courtney Briggeman and Brandon Sabelhaus of Tell City announce their engagement and approaching marriage.

    The bride-elect is the daughter of Dave and Kathy Briggeman of Tell City. She is a 2006 graduate of Tell City High School and graduated from ITT Technical Institute in Newburgh after studying computer electronics engineering technology. She works at the Perry County Courthouse.
    Mr. Sabelhaus is the son of Dave and Diane Sabelhaus of Bristow. He is a 2005 graduate of Perry Central High School and works at Waupaca.

  • Community effort ensures future for a monument of faith

    A landmark statue that has instilled inspiration and faith for more than 50 years will stand for years to come, thanks to work completed this summer.
    The Christ of the Ohio statue in Troy has undergone repairs to the 19-foot-tall statue itself, its base and nearby surroundings, thanks to donations from the community.
