  • Kentucky Wesleyan hosts fall open house

    OWENSBORO, Ky. – Kentucky Wesleyan College will hold an open house from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday. Registration will begin at 8:30 a.m.
    Prospective students will have the chance to experience the excitement of college life at Kentucky Wesleyan.
    The open house in-cludes tours of the campus and opportunities to meet with current students, faculty and staff. Visitors and their families can get information on financial aid, student life at KWC, NCAA college athletics and more.

  • Santa’s Candy Castle “Jelly Belly Day” to offer free family fun

    SANTA CLAUS – Santa’s Candy Castle will host its third annual Jelly Belly Day from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday. The free event will feature a wide range of Jelly Belly-themed contests and activities for the entire family.

  • Debbie Cronin cancer benefit Nov. 24

    TELL CITY – A benefit for Debbie Cronin will be held Nov. 24 at the Tell City American Legion Post. The event will include a dinner, silent and live auctions, a dance and karaoke.
    Admission price is $10 per person and will include dinner, a door prize and entertainment. Doors will open at 4 p.m. The silent auction will run from 4 to 7 p.m. and those entering must be present to win.

  • Jakoby Allyn Cronin

    Christopher and Jennifer Cronin of Tell City announce the birth of their son, Jakoby Allyn Cronin, Friday, Nov. 2, 2012, at Perry County Memorial Hospital in Tell City.
    The infant weighed 6 pounds, 8 ounces and was 19 inches long.
    Mrs. Cronin is the former Jennifer Dartt. Jakoby has one older brother, Hayven Cronin, 3.
    Grandparents are David Dartt and Rebecca Wilson of Tell City, Sandy Tindle and Carl Cronin of Tell City and the late Elton Wilson.

  • Bryce Randall Kucy

    Tom and Amie Kucy of Clinton, Wis., announce the birth of their son, Bryce Randall Kucy, Thursday, Sept. 27, 2012, at the Swedish American Hospital in Rockford, Ill.
    The infant weighed 7 pounds, 11 ounces and was 20 inches long.
    Mrs. Kucy is the former Amie Etienne. Bryce has one older brother, Blake, 17 months.
    Grandparents are Randall and Barbara Etienne of Tell City and Dennis and Amy Kucy of Lake Geneva, Wis.
    Great-grandparents are Casper and Glenda Etienne and Donald and Helen Shaw.

  • Kurtz – Carrico

    Corey Carrico and Cheryl Kurtz announce their engagement and approaching marriage.

    The bride-elect is the daughter of Geoff and Lisa Kurtz of Lititz, Pa. She is employed by Fayette County Public Schools of Lexington, Ky.
    Mr. Carrico is the son of Jim and Charlotte Carrico of Derby. He is employed by CMTA Engineers of Lexington.
    The wedding is planned for Saturday, Nov. 17, 2012 at Buffalo Trace Distillery Clubhouse in Frankfort, Ky. After the wedding, the couple will reside in Lexington.

    As we all know, times are tough and many families in Perry County need a helping hand. Thanks to the support of the United Way of Perry County, Perry Central Family Outreach is able to continue to bring free family programming to the people of our community.
