• Perry County Weekend Backpack Program to continue for 2015-16

    PERRY COUNTY – Another school year has begun. That means the Perry County Weekend Food Backpack Program will begin delivering food to students who come from homes where food is insufficient or sometimes unavailable.

    Peanut butter and jelly sandwiches will be offered as third choice. Salads on Monday, Wednesday; subs on Tuesday, Thursday.

  • Lego Robotics

    TELL CITY – Robots, touch sensors, color sensors, gyro sensors … do these terms sound like a foreign language? Would you like to learn more about them?

    The William Tell Elementary Lego League would like to invite community members interested in seeing what this is all about.

    The League is offering adults in the community opportunities to learn about robots along with the William Tell Elementary Lego teams.

    TELL CITY – The Tell City-Troy Township School Corp. continues to work with the City of Tell City’s “get healthy” initiative. In doing so, there will once again be walking areas for students in grades seven through 12 within the city of Tell City.

  • SonShine Early Learning to mark 10-year anniversary

    TELL CITY – St. John’s Lutheran church will celebrate an important milestone soon.

    The church’s SonShine Early Learning Ministry daycare and preschool will celebrate its 10-year anniversary. The center will host a week-long celebration beginning Monday, Aug. 3, with various activities for the children and their families.

    There will be a celebration Aug. 9 at St. John’s Lutheran Church.

  • Perry Central back to school cookout set for Thursday

    LEOPOLD – The annual Perry Central back-to-school cookout will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, July 30.

    Families are invited to come meet student’s new teachers and visit the many school readiness booths sponsored by school and community groups in the school cafetorium.

    There will be entertainment by the Perry Central band and cheerleaders, prize registrations, giveaways and bus rides for new preschoolers and kindergarteners. Free hot dogs and drinks will also be served.
