    CANNELTON – The Cannelton Jr.-Sr. High School honor roll students for the first grading period in the first term of the 2015-16 school year were:

    Grade 6 high honor roll: Jhett B. Garrett and Devyn Rollie Powers.

  • Tell City inducts new members into National Honor Society

    TELL CITY – Tell City Jr.-Sr. High School is proud to announce 16 juniors were inducted into the Tell City High School chapter of National Honor Society in a ceremony held Thursday, Oct. 15 in the school auditorium.

    The program was led by NHS officers Gant Miller, president; Samantha Allen, vice president; Madison Gilliland, secretary; Reed Goffinet, treasurer; Amy Hackbarth, historian; and Adriana Corso, activities director, along with Brad Ramsey, principal.

  • TC Junior-Senior H.S. plans academic kickoff Oct. 22

    TELL CITY – On Thursday, Oct. 22, the Renaissance Leadership class of Tell City Junior Senior High School will host its annual academic kickoff.

    This year’s theme is “STAR WARS: May the Grades Be With You!”

    The club invites the public to attend and help them in recognizing the students and “staffulty” for their academic achievements, hard work and dedication. If you plan on attending, Renaissance asks you to please sign in with the front office and sit in the balcony of the auditorium.

    JASPER – Months of work and continual tweaks to their show, “MasterMinder,” are paying dividends for the Tell City Marching Marksmen as they stride in powerfully toward a strong regional push. The Marksmen earned a gold rating Saturday in Jasper at the Indiana State School Music Association Scholastic Prelims, placing them in elite company among other top Open Class D bands.

  • Girls LEGO activity planned for Nov. 14

    PERRY COUNTY – All girls, grades K through 5, in Perry County are invited to explore the LEGO StoryStarter, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 14, at William Tell Elementary School, 1235 31st St., in Tell City.

    The LEGO StoryStarter set, curriculum, and software will help kick-start creativity and boost reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills.

    Participating girls will work together to create and build stories with LEGO bricks and figures and then use LEGO’s StoryVisualizer interactive software to photograph, write, and publish their stories.
