  • Cannelton Elementary first semester, second 9 weeks honor rolls

    CANNELTON – Cannelton Elementary School has recognized students for achieving honor roll during its first semester.

    • First grade honor roll, Melanie Cronin and Nathaniel Crafton; distinguished honor roll, Brooke Poehlein and Kenley Salmon.

    • Second grade honor roll, Tyler Coon and Caiden Thompson; distinguished honor roll, McKenzie Bolin, Gavin Fuqua and Serenity Miles; and honorable mention, Jackson Castleberry, D’errica Gilbert, Gavin Powers, Jeryn Powers, Kobe Aud and Annie Bentley.

  • TCHS earns Presidential award for JA volunteerism

    Tell city – Students and faculty of Tell City High School were recognized Dec. 18 during a meeting of the school Boar. Junior Achievement presented Principal Brad Ramsey with a Presidential Volunteer Service Award, a national honor offered in recognition of volunteer service.  Twenty-eight high school students volunteered 280 hours teaching financial literary curriculum to elementary students.

  • Applications available for Senate Pages

    INDIANAPOLIS – The Indiana Senate is now accepting applications for the 2019 Senate Page Program.

    Through the full-day program, students in grades six through 12 can tour Indiana’s Statehouse, listen to debates and help staff with age-appropriate tasks. Students also have the opportunity to meet with their state senator.

  • Arts Commission now accepting grant applications

    INDIANAPOLIS – The Indiana Arts Commission announced recently the posting of program guidelines on the agency’s website for Arts Organization Support and Arts Project Support grants for the upcoming fiscal year and the opening of applications for those grants. The commission approved revisions to its program guidelines during its Dec. 7 quarterly business meeting in Carmel.

  • Roberson named Lilly Community Scholar

    PERRY COUNTY – The Perry County Community Foundation has announced that William Roberson of St. Croix is the recipient of the 2019 Perry County Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship.

    The scholarship provides full-tuition, required fees, and an annual stipend of up to $900 for required books and equipment for four years of full-time undergraduate study leading to a baccalaureate degree.

  • Applicants sought for Community Foundation scholarship program

    PERRY COUNTY – This year, donors to the Perry County Community Foundation are again making scholarship awards available through the Foundation’s Community Scholarship Program.

    The Community Scholarship program is made up of various scholarship funds, each with individual selection criteria and eligibility requirements. These opportunities were created by donors to provide Perry County students with opportunities for advanced education.

  • JA honors Perry Central students with Presidential Volunteer Service Award

    LEOPOLD – On Tuesday, Junior Achievement presented Perry Central High School students with the U.S. Presidential Volunteer Service Award, a national honor offered in recognition of volunteer service.

    Twenty high school students volunteered 200 hours teaching financial literary curriculum to elementary students.

    The U.S. Presidential Volunteer Service Award is a prestigious national honor that comes from the White House in recognition of sustained volunteer service.

  • Tell City juniors named to state Rising Stars list

    TELL CITY – Several Tell City Junior-Senior High School 11th-graders have been recognized by the Indiana Association of School Principals as Rising Stars of Indiana Class of 2020. Earning honors from Tell City Jr.-Sr. High are: Taylor Goffinet, Karina Hazumi, Neal Hollinden and Carina Kessens. 

  • Perry Central Students of the Month

    Perry Central Jr.-Sr. High School students, Kendra Gehlhausen and Ty Hess, were recognized as November Students of the Month for the work-ethic skill of honesty. Prizes for these students are sponsored by Marcy’s Restaurant.
