• Drama club presenting ‘A Delightful Quarantine’

    TELL CITY – The Tell City High School Drama Club will present “A Delightful Quarantine” Friday, Saturday and Sunday in the high-school auditorium.
    The curtain will rise at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday and at 2 p.m. Sunday.
    Tickets are $4 each for all three showings. The public is invited.

  • Daughters of Isabella scholarship available

    PERRY COUNTY – The Daughters of Isabella will award a $500 scholarship to a high-school graduate from one of the three schools in the county.
    The applicant must be a child or grandchild of a member of the D of I local circle. The criteria is based on financial need, academic excellence and extra curricular activities.

  • Glory Bees Preschool accepting applications

    TELL CITY – Glory Bees Preschool, a ministry of the First Baptist Church of Tell City, is accepting applications for the 2011-12 school year.
    The preschool provides a Christian educational experience through Bible stories, songs and Christian character building. The curriculum incorporates kindergarten readiness skills, social and communication skills, community field trips, guest readers and a reading-incentive book club.

  • Perry Central announces preschool, kindergarten registration

    LEOPOLD – Perry Central is accepting registrations for preschool and kindergarten for the 2011-12 school year. Children who will be 4 years of age by Aug. 1 are eligible to attend preschool. Children who will be 5 years of age by Aug. 1 are eligible for kindergarten.
    Preschool round-up will be held Friday, April 15. Round-up for kindergarten students who do not currently attend preschool at Perry Central will be held Friday, April 8. Students who currently attend Perry Central preschool will automatically be registered for kindergarten next year.

  • WTE holds kindergarten enrollment

    TELL CITY – Kindergarten enrollment for the Tell City-Troy Township School Corp. will be held March 10 from 1 until 6 p.m. for all children entering school for the first time. Parents and children should enter through the main door at William Tell Elementary and follow signs. Each child registering for kindergarten will be given a folder.

  • Tots Lots Preschool enrollment

    TELL CITY – Tots Lots Preschool has begun enrollment for the 2011-12 school year. For a child to be eligible for the morning session, he or she must be 4 years old by Aug. 1. The morning session meets from 9 to 11 a.m. For a child to be eligible for the afternoon session, he or she must be 3 years old by Aug. 1. This session is held from 12:30 to 2:15 p.m. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.

  • CCC Preschool hosting open house

    TELL CITY – Community Christian Church Preschool will open registration for the 2011-12 school year at its open house from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. March 15.
    Parents will have the opportunity to tour the preschool, visit classrooms, review the curriculum, meet the staff and take advantage of early enrollment.

  • Perry Central Lights-On workshop

    Renate Jobst, an extension educator for the Purdue Extension Agency, facilitated a workshop for the Perry Central Lights-On program recently.

    In the workshop, Jobst had groups of students wrap an egg with tape and straws. After a certain time, she stood on a chair and dropped the egg to see if the groups had protected their egg with the material given. The students then talked about theory, hypotheses and probability.     National Honor Society to host trivia night
    TELL CITY – Tell City Junior-Senior High School’s National Honor Society will host a charity trivia night Thursday, March 17. The event will begin at 6:30 p.m. and be held in the Bryan Taylor Sports Arena.
    There will be 10 rounds of 10 questions with each round relating to a different category. The teams may include five members of any age.
    The cost is $5 per student (high-school age and under) and $8 per adult. The deadline for entries is March 11.

  • TC Renaissance class to hold annual yard sale March 12

    TELL CITY – The Tell City Junior-Senior High School Renaissance class has scheduled its annual yard sale for March 12 in the Bryan Taylor Sports Arena. The sale will be held from 6 a.m. to noon.
    Those attending are asked to enter through Gate 3 off of Tell Street.
    Items available will include women’s, men’s and children’s apparel, household items, home décor, toys, two computer printers, an air hockey table and a variety of books.
