    TELL CITY – Tell City Jr-Sr High School will be hold its annual honor program for students in grades 7-12 on Sunday, May 19, starting at 12:30 p.m. in the school auditorium.

    TELL CITY – Tell City Junior-Senior High School will celebrate the graduating class of 2019 during its Senior Awards Program on Sunday, May 19, at 2 p.m. in the school auditorium.   • ONB Foundation donates $30,000 to Junior Achievement

    OWENSBORO, Ky. – Old National Bank associates presented a check for $30,000 from the Old National Bank Foundation to Junior Achievement of West Kentucky. The funds will be used to support the Choose a Job, Get a Job, Keep a Job program for the next two school years in Perry County and throughout six counties of Daviess, Henderson, Hopkins, Muhlenberg and Union in Kentucky.

  • Education pays accepting loan applications

    TELL CITY – The Board of Directors of Education Pays Student Loan Fund of Tell City/Perry County has announced it is accepting applications for interest-free loans to be awarded to students pursuing a post-high school education for the fall, 2019, semester. Applications are available at the offices of the guidance counselors at Cannelton, Perry Central and Tell City High Schools. The deadline for submitting applications is June 1. 

  • Summer opportunities in Commodore Manufacturing

    LEOPOLD – Commodore Manufacturing, a program for students at Perry Central High School interested in vocational fields, is offering an opportunity for students to continue projects from this school year and advance their skills this summer while earning a salary. Commodore Manufacturing is a work-based learning opportunity created during the 2017-2018 school year for students interested in the Advanced Manufacturing pathway.

  • Sheriff’s Association awarding scholarships

    PERRY COUNTY – Perry County Sheriff Alan Malone announced this week that the Indiana Sheriffs’ Association will again be awarding college scholarships to qualified high school seniors or college students who are pursuing a degree in criminal justice studies. There will be approximately 40 $750 scholarships awarded to qualifying students throughout the state.

  • Cannelton elementary third nine weeks honor rolls

    CANNELTON – Myers Grade School in Cannleton has released its honor roll list of students for the third nine weeks.

    First grade

    Distinguished honors: Brooke Poehlein and Kenley Salmon.

    Second grade

    Honorable mention: Jackson Castleberry, D’errica Gilbert and Annie Bentley.

    Distinguished honors: McKenzie Bolin, Gavin Fuqua and Jeryn Powers.

  • Students earn honors at state History Day contest

    TELL CITY – The Indiana Historical Society proudly announces two Tell City History Day Club students took top honors at the 2019 National History Day in Indiana state contest, Saturday, April 13, at the University of Indianapolis.

    The competition, hosted by IHS, showcased the work of more than 500 Indiana students.

    Benedict Mundy took third place in the Youth Individual Website category for his project, “The Madison Railroad: Triumph and Tragedy in Transportation.”
