  • Vectren moving forward on Troy solar project

    SPENCER COUNTY – Vectren Energy Delivery of Indiana announced it has reached an agreement with the Indiana Office of Utility Consumer Counselor and the Citizens Action Coalition to build a 50-megawatt universal solar array in eastern Spencer County as part of Vectren’s long-term electric generation transition plan.

    The agreement was filed with the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission.

  • Fall property taxes due Nov. 13

    TELL CITY – Perry Countians are reminded of the upcoming deadline to pay the fall installment of property taxes. Payments are due Tuesday, Nov. 13.  Any payments received after that date will be subject to a penalty.

    Due to Veterans Day, the office will be open Saturday, Nov. 3, from 8 a.m. to noon for paying taxes. The office will also be open until 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 13. Normal business hours are from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday.

    All mailed payments must be postmarked by Nov. 13 to avoid a late penalty.

  • USDA begins issuing farm safety net, CRP payments

    WASHINGTON, D.C. – Agriculture Secretary Sonny Perdue announced on Friday that the United State Department of Agriculture continues to invest in rural America with more than $4.8 billion in payments being made, starting this month, to agricultural producers through the Farm Service Agency’s Agriculture Risk Coverage, Price Loss Coverage and Conservation Reserve programs.

    Approximately $3 billion in payments will be made under the ARC and PLC programs for the 2017 crop year, and approximately $1.8 billion in annual rental payments under CRP for 2018.

  • Tell City attorneys moving into new offices

    TELL CITY – Chris Goffinet and Jeff Hagedorn, owners of the law firm Huber Goffinet & Hagedorn, will be relocating their offices to share space with John Werner at his office located at 644 12th St., Tell City, effective Monday, Oct. 29. 

    “We are excited to be sharing office space with John, who has been practicing law in Perry County for over 45 years,” said Hagedorn.

    PERRY COUNTY – The public is invited to join in welcoming the newest member of the Purdue Extension-Perry and Spencer County teams, Holly Simpson, at a fall open house on Monday, Oct. 22, from 4 to 6 p.m. Stop by the Perry County office at 65 Park Ave. in Tell City for a tour, enjoy fall-themed refreshments, create a quick fall-themed craft and meet the new Health and Human Sciences educator in Perry and Spencer counties.
