• New timber technician on the Hoosier National Forest

    BEDFORD –  Kim Voiles has joined the Hoosier National Forest staff in Tell City as a timber technician.

    Kim’s main duties involved laying out timber sales in the Forest, marking trees and boundaries, and flagging special areas to avoid archaeological sites and stream corridors. She will also work with timber sale administration.

  • Chamber to host small business workshop

    TELL CITY – Southwest Indiana Small Business Development Center and the Perry County Chamber of Commerce will host an informational workshop, Financing Options-Access to Capital, from 3:30 to 5 p.m., Monday, Oct. 5 at the Tell City Depot. Registration will open at 3:30 p.m. The Public is Invited.

  • Jasper Engines & Transmissions announces new leadership at Crawford County facility

    JASPER – Jasper Engines & Transmissions has announced recent organizational changes at its Crawford County facility.

    These changes fulfill the company’s need for additional collaboration and shared common goals among its distribution center, JET Transit, Jasper EcoTech and Jasper Innovative Solutions.

    Ben Melton has been named group leader at JIS. Melton has been a Jasper associate for 15 months. 

  • Dr. Isaac Gatwood appointed to Memorial Hospital medical staff

    JASPER – Family Physician Isaac Gatwood M.D. was recently appointed to the active medical staff at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center. 

    He will provide primary care services at Memorial Hospital’s new Memorial Health Bristow clinic, which is scheduled to open in December at 26020 State Road 145.

    ST. MEINRAD – At its annual convention and expo earlier this year in Phoenix, Ariz., NTCA-The Rural Broadband Association, elected Perry-Spencer Communication’s president and chief executive officer, Jim Dauby, as their new president of the board.

    NTCA is the country’s premier broadband association representing nearly 900 independent, community-based telecommunications companies that are leading innovation in rural and small-town America. 

  • GAB’s Tell City Clean Sweep benefits city, nonprofits

    TELL CITY  – German American’s Tell City Clean Sweep was held  Saturday, July 18.

    Ten local non-profit organizations participated in a 2-hour city-wide clean up to pick up trash in and around Tell City. 

    The event started and ended at German American’s Tell City Main Street Office located at 645 Main Street.

  • Luke Bawel named Jasper vice president of logistics groups

    JASPER – Jasper Engines & Transmissions has announced the promotion of Luke Bawel to vice president of Jasper’s Supply Chain and Logistics Groups, which includes distribution channels, JET Transit and Jasper Innovative Solutions.

    During his seven year career with Jasper, Luke has worked in a variety of capacities, including manufacturing, quality, inside sales, customer service and outside sales.

    Most recently, he has served as the division manager of JIS.

    PERRY COUNTY – Girls in grades kindergarten through 12 are invited to join Girl Scouts.

    There will be an informational registration meeting from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 19, at Twilight Towers-Tell City Housing Authority High Rise, located at 1648 10th St. in Tell City. This year, the membership fee is being reduced from $15 to $7.50, thanks to community donations.
