  • TELL CITY – Life Tabernacle United Pentecostal Church, located at 402 Ninth Street in Tell City, has returned to its winter schedule of services.

    Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday and 6:30 p.m. Wednesday now through March 29. No services will be held Dec. 24 and Dec. 31. Contact Pastor Orville Harmon at 547-5727 for transportation or more information. Everyone is invited to attend.

  • TELL CITY – Deer Creek Baptist Church will host youth and adult Christmas programs beginning Sunday, Dec. 14.

    At 6 p.m., the congregation’s children will present “Meet Me at the Manger,” followed by a youth creative expression of “Oh Holy Night” and a “Nativity Scene Shadow Play.”

    On Sunday, Dec. 21, at 10:30 a.m., the adult choir will perform the cantata, “Bethlehem Morning.” Christmas caroling will begin at 6 p.m.

  • Lindsey N. LaGrange and Kurt L. Rottet were married Oct. 25, 2014, at Harvest Moon Bed and Breakfast in Ferdinand with Dan Smith officiating.

    The bride is the daughter of John and Stacey LaGrange of Santa Claus and the granddaughter of Carroll and Brenda Goffinet of Tell City and Gene and Ann LaGrange of Mariah Hill.

    The groom is the son of Terry and Patty Rottet of Jasper and the grandson of Shirley Rottet of Jasper. The couple honeymooned in Nashville, Tenn., and resides in Ireland.

  • TELL CITY – The Rev. Ron Ammon of Bethel Baptist Church and its members invite the public to stroll down memory lane with two nights of “Christmas Memories” music and visuals performed by the church’s praise team and various members.

    Programs will be held at 6 p.m. Friday, Dec. 12 and Sunday, Dec. 14.

    A children’s Christmas program will be held Sunday, Dec. 14 during the 10 a.m. worship service. The church is at the corner of Ninth and Fulton streets in Tell City.

  • FERDINAND – Budding musical talents will be showcased as students of the Sisters of St. Benedict perform a Christmas recital at 2 p.m. EST Sunday, Dec. 7, at Monastery Immaculate Conception.

    The students represent various schools in the area, including William Tell Elementary, Tell City High School, Perry Central Elementary, Nancy Hanks Elementary, Heritage Hills Middle School, Heritage Hills High School and Ferdinand Elementary.

  • TELL CITY – The First Church of the Nazarene will hold an installation service for its incoming pastor, the Rev. Charles Areson, at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 7.

    A small reception will follow and the public is invited to attend.

  • Adam and Lucy (Rhodes) Goffinet of Cannelton announce the birth of their son, Asher Scott.

    He was delivered at 1:20 p.m. Nov. 17, 2014, at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Evansville.

    Ashton weighed 6 pounds, 5½ ounces and was 20 inches long.

    Maternal grandparents are Melvin and Marilyn Rhodes of Cannelton.

    Paternal grandparents are Bill and Dolores Goffinet of Tell City.

  • Jack and Tara Briggeman of Dublin, Ohio, announce the birth of their son, Jackson Carter.

    He arrived Sept. 19, 2014, at Ohio State University Hospital in Columbus, Ohio.

    Jackson weighed 6 pounds, 7 ounces and was 19 inches long.

    Mrs. Briggeman is the former Tara Gebhard.

    Grandparents are Harry and Kim Hawkins and Bill and Vicki Gebhard, all of Tell City.
