The outgoing and energetic 12-year-old from Tell City has already generated an impressive run of crowning achievements at pageantry contests.

    We enjoyed sweet potatoes all winter long from a fantastic harvest last fall. In fact, I still have a crate full in the basement that will feed us this summer. I planted out about 25 organic slips purchased from Country Corner Greenhouse in Shepherdsville in late May and by early November, we had four nursery crates full of one of nature’s perfect foods. Seven months and counting in storage with no spoilage is impressive.

  • My name is Janna Hoehn, I am a 28-year resident of Maui, Hawaii. Eight years ago, my husband and I made our first trip to Washington, D.C. Because Vietnam was the war that was going on while I was in high school, the first memorial on my list was the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall. Even though I never knew anyone killed in Vietnam, I wanted an rubbing of one of the names.

  • Brandon and Lauren Zellers of Tell City announce the birth of their son, William Kaiser Zellers, on Sept. 3, 2018, at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. He weighed 7 pounds, 8 ounces and was 21 ½ inches long.

    William’s grandparents are Mick and Rita Young of Cannelton, Pat and Lesa Fischer of Tell City, Jordan and Jeanette Raven of San Antonio, Texas, and Keith Zellers and Amanda Roll of Tell City.

  • ST. MEINRAD – The Board of Overseers has added five new members and a returning member to the advisory board for Saint Meinrad Seminary and School of Theology.

    The board advises President-Rector Fr. Denis Robinson OSB on matters related to the school’s programs and performance and addresses strategic questions related to the future of the school. Each member serves a three-year term.

    New members joining the board are Esi Bani, Frances Brown, Victor Neff, William Payne Jr. and Deneen Plessala. M. Diane Murphy is rejoining the board.

  • Mr. Robert B. Edwards and Mrs. Kayla M. Edwards of Marengo announce the birth of their son, Ezra James Edwards. He was born, July 17, 2018, at Baptist Health Floyd in New Albany, weighing 5 pounds, 15 ounces and was 19.5 inches long.

    He is the grandson of Shawn and Christina Bailey of Tell City and Barbara L. Edwards and Bernard F. Edwards Jr. of St. Louis, Mo. His great-grandparents are Don and Norene Duke of Tell City.

    The mother is the former Kayla Bailey.

  • Levi and Andrea Clark of Birdseye announce the birth of their daughter, Nora Grace. She was born Aug. 10, 2018, at 11:28 p.m. at Jasper Memorial Hospital, weighed 7 pounds, 4 ounces and measured 20 inches long.

    Her mother is the former Andrea Mitchell.

    Nora was welcomed by two brothers, Hank, age 6, and Dean, 3.

    Grandparents are Chris and Paula Mitchell of Tell City, and Pat and Sheila Clark of Birdseye. 

    Great-grandparents are Marion Mitchell and Virginia Harvey.

  • Cody Cail and Samantha Johnson of Owensboro, Ky., announce the birth of their daughter, Elaina Brooke Cail. She was born Sept. 19, 2018, at Owensboro Health, weighed 7 pounds, 14 ounces and measured 20 inches long.

    Elaina was welcomed by grandparents Marilyn and Gary Hubert of Tell City, Rick and Theresa Cail of South Pasadena, Fla., Denise Nelson of Owensboro and Dave and Terri Johnson of La Vergne, Tenn.

  • Zinda and Kelvin Lindauer of St. Meinrad and Teresa and Ezequiel Flores of Schererville announce the engagement and upcoming marriage of their children, Megan Renae Lindauer and Efrain Homero Flores.

    Megan is a 2011 graduate of Perry Central High School and a 2016 graduate of the University of Southern Indiana with a degree in occupational therapy. She currently works at St. Mary’s Hospital in Hobart.   

  • Justin Cross and Kaitlyn Belcher were united in marriage July 22, 2018, in a 6 p.m. in a ceremony at the Pipers at the Marott in Indianapolis. The bride’s uncle, Patrick Owen, officiated. A reception followed in the same location.

    Following the wedding, the couple traveled to Playa Mujeres, Mexico, for their honeymoon. They currently reside in Indianapolis.

    The bride is the daughter of Jerry Belcher and Rebecca Owen of Tell City. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Indiana State University and currently works at Indiana Connections Academy.
