  • Perry County Professionals to meet Feb. 10

    PERRY COUNTY – The Perry County Professionals group will have its next meeting Tuesday, Feb. 10, from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Perry County Port Authority.

    Alvin Evans will be the guest speaker.

    Perry County Professionals is group of individuals who network and communicate about the community and the organizations and businesses with which they are associated.

    Anyone interested in networking with other professionals is invited to attend.

    LEOPOLD – The Perry Central High School Class of 1985 will have a 30-year class reunion meeting at 6 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 29, at the Pour Haus in Tell City.

    Friends of Library to meet Tuesday
    TELL CITY – The Friends of the Perry County Public Library will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 27, at the Tell City branch. The topic of discussion will be National Library Week, April 12-18, and future activities at the library. The public is invited. For more information, call the library at 547-2661.

  • Author to speak at Lincoln Day Program

    LINCOLN CITY – John Barr, author of the book “Loathing Lincoln: An American Tradition From the Civil War to the Present,” will be the featured speaker at the annual Lincoln Day program Sunday, Feb. 8.

    The program will begin at 2 p.m. and will be held in the Abraham Lincoln Hall of Lincoln Boyhood National Memorial.

    Horseman’s club schedules winter euchre games


    TELL CITY – The Southern Indiana Horseman’s Club will host euchre games throughout winter.

    The next games will be held Saturday, Jan. 24. Doors will open at 6 p.m. and games will begin at 7 p.m. Cost is $5 at the door and 25 cents per euchre game.

    Chili, hot dogs, desserts, coffee, sodas and water will be available.

    No smoking is permitted in the building. All games are open to the public ages 16 and older.

  • Purdue Varsity Glee Club to perform at Heritage Hills High School Jan. 30

    LINCOLN CITY – The Purdue Varsity Glee Club will travel to southern Indiana Friday,  Jan. 30, for  a performance at Heritage Hills High School.

    Purdue senior and Glee Club member Clint Buechler is a 2011 graduate of Heritage Hills High School and the club will welcome him back to his home community.

    Tickets for the 6:30 p.m. show are general admission and will be available first-come, first served. They can be purchased by calling (812) 367-2517.

  • Perry County Extension Night set for Monday at Perry Central

    PERRY COUNTY – The public is invited to join Sara Dzimianski, extension educator for agriculture and natural resources, and the Perry County FFA for a series of winter agriculture workshops coming up in the new year.

    Topics will include the U.S. Farm Bill, farm succession planning, pond management, beekeeping and more.

    Monday, Jan. 26, will be Perry County’s Extension Night and annual meeting.

    The event had been set for Nov. 17 but was snowed out. It will be held in the Perry Central Community School cafetorium.

  • Cornerstone Christian to host soup supper

    CANNELTON - Cornerstone Christian School will host its annual all-you-can-eat soup supper from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 24, at Freewill Baptist Church in Cannelton. Cost of $8 for adults and $4 for children 10 and younger will include soup, a drink and dessert. Soup varieties include chili, potato, bean and veggie.
