  • Kessner, Hauenstein to share memories of Tell City history

    TELL CITY – The Tell City Historical Society will host its next meeting at 6 p.m. Monday, Feb. 26, at the museum, located at Ninth and Franklin streets.

    The program for this month’s meeting is “Dot and Friends,” with Dot Kessner and Al Hauenstein reminiscing about the early days of Tell City. A time will be set aside to ask them questions. There will also be copies of Al’s new book about the emigration of his ancestors to Indiana.

    The public is invited.

  • Purdue Extension offering training on home-based vendor laws

    TELL CITY – Thinking of selling produce, honey, or home-baked goods at a farmer’s market or from your kitchen? Not sure what laws apply to you? Purdue Extension has answers.

    Amanda Mosiman, Purdue Extension Educator for Agriculture and Natural Resources in Warrick County will speak on Indiana Home-Based Vendor Laws at the Purdue Extension Office in Perry County, located at 65 Park Ave. IN Tell City on Tuesday, Feb. 27 at 6 p.m. CST.

  • CVB, quilt guild to host winter quilt show

    TELL CITY  – The Perry County Convention & Visitors Bureau has partnered with the Lincoln Trail Quilt Guild to host its First Perry County Winter Quilt Show.

    This event will be held at the Tell City Depot located at 333 Seventh St. in Tell City on Saturday, March 3  from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Sunday, March 4 from noon to 4 pm.

    Beautiful quilts from the Lincoln Trail Quilt Guild members will be on display and members of the guild will he on hand for questions.

  • Half marathon coming to Tell City March 10

    TELL CITY – Grab your running shoes. Tell City is hosting a half-marathon next month with hundreds of runners from across Indiana and surrounding states expected to take part. And if the 13.1-mile distance is bit much for you, there’s also a 5-kilometer run-walk.

  • Beekeeper Workshop Thursday

    LEOPOLD – Purdue Extension and the Perry County Beekeepers are offering a “Getting Started with Bees” workshop on Thursday, Feb. 15, at 6 p.m. in the FFA Building at Perry Central School.

  • Community Events; Feb. 12

    Hunter education course starts Feb. 19

     

    LEOPOLD – Perry Central will host an adult hunter’s education course.  Indiana Conservation Officer Zac Howerton will conduct the course. 

    There will be a total of 6 classes offered to obtain the license. The first will begin on Monday, Feb. 19. The others will be held on Feb. 20, 21, 27, 28 and March 1. The starting time is 6 p.m. in the elementary library and run to 9 p.m.

  • Grammy winner For King & Country to headline Holiday World concert

    SANTA CLAUS – Multiple Grammy Award-winning Christian rock band For King & Country will headline Holiday World & Splashin’ Safari’s “Rock the World” concert in August.

    This is the seventh year for Holiday World’s Christian music fest, which includes a day at the park, plus an evening concert. In addition to For King & Country, main-stage performances will include We Are Messengers, 7eventh Time Down, and Ginny Owens.

  • Amphitheatre announces 2018 lineup

    LINCOLN CITY – On the heels of a 2017 performance series that saw five sellouts and an increase in overall attendance by more than 40 percent over the previous year, the Lincoln Amphitheatre has announced its 2018 season lineup.

  • Blood drive Feb. 28

    TELL CITY – German American Bank will host a Red Cross blood drive from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 28, in the bank conference room at 645 Main St. in Tell City.

    All blood types are needed and each donation can help save up to three lives. Contact Tina Ziegelgruber or Gretchen Hawhee at (812) 547-7025 to schedule an appointment.

  • Band boosters seek vendors for March bazaar

    TELL CITY – The Tell City Band Boosters will host its annual Easter bazaar and silent  auction on Saturday, March 10, at the Schergens Center. The organization is looking for craft vendors and small businesses to rent tables or booths.
