    TELL CITY – The Humane Society of Perry County will hold its monthly meeting Tuesday, Feb. 12, at 6 p.m. at the Fifth-Third Bank in Tell City.

    Knights Club breakfast buffet Sunday

     

    TELL CITY – The Tell City Knights Club will hold an all-you-can-eat breakfast buffet on Sunday, Feb. 10, at the K of C in Tell City from 8 a.m. to noon. Cost is $7.50 for adults and $3.50 for kids 12 and under. Menu includes scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, hash browns, biscuits, gravy, French toast sticks and served with coffee, juice or milk.

  • 2019 Amphitheatre lineup: classic rock, country acts, premiere of Lincoln play

    Lincoln Amphitheatre’s 2019 performance series will continue to feature a diverse lineup of performances highlighted by appearances by rock, pop, country, classical and family entertainment.

    Molly Hatchet, John Waite, Henry Lee Summer, Ben and Noel Haggard and sons of Country Music Hall of Fame member, Merle Haggard are some of the artists who will be performing in Lincoln City.

  • Community Events; Feb. 4

    Writers workshop set for Feb. 19

     

    TELL CITY – Writers of all types are welcome to attend a writing workshop discussion on Tuesday, Feb. 19, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., at the Tell City Public Library. The group welcomes all writers 18 or older for fiction as well as nonfiction, to share their writing and have an opportunity for discussion.

    This program is free and open to the public. Participants are encouraged to take a sample of their writing.

     

  • Benefit for Aden Stephens to take place Feb. 16

    SANTA CLAUS – Aden has been battling cancer since he was about 1 1/2 years old ... it is now back again with a vengeance.

    A benefit will be held for him Saturday, Feb. 16, upstairs at the Santa Claus Legion in Santa Claus. All events will begin at 1 p.m. and go until 9 p.m. 

    A Facebook page, www.facebook.com/groups/962298730643106/, has been created to keep friends and family up to date.

  • Extension offering woodland invasive species course

    PERRY COUNTY – Invasive species invading your woodlot? Want in-depth training on the removal of invasive species? Need credit to renew your Category 2 pesticide license?

    Purdue Extension is offering a three-session in-depth training on woodland invasive species management. Extension Forester Ron Rathfon and Nursery Inspector Angela Rust will offer their expertise in identifying and managing weed and insect pests as well as exotic plant diseases.

    The program will be held at the Purdue Extension Office in Perry County, located at 65 Park Ave. in Tell City.

    Friday Book Club meets Friday

    JASPER – A piano-wind chamber ensemble performance, presented by Jasper Community Arts, will be held at the Jasper Arts Center on Sunday, Jan. 27, at 7:30 p.m.

  • 1924 history of Tell City to be shared Monday

    TELL CITY – The program for the next meeting of the Tell City Historical Society on Monday, Jan. 28, will be a 1924 essay written by S. A. Brazee who was one of the early founders of Tell City. It will include history about early businesses on Main Street. The society will meet at 6 p.m. at the museum. The public is invited to learn about Tell City’s beginning.
