  • Relay for Life registration begins

    TELL CITY – The American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Perry County gives everyone in the community a chance to help the organization save lives and create a world with less cancer and more birthdays.   • Second chance prom event set for March 19

    TELL CITY – There will be a second chance prom event held March 19, from 7 p.m. to midnight at the Schergens Center in Tell City. Tickets are $40 for couples and $25 for singles.

    Music will provided by Rick Nelson of Sound Box Entertainment. There will be a cash bar provided by The Alpine, photography by Ashlee Adams, light snacks provided, a silent auction and door prizes.

    The party is for adults only, ages 21 and up. Guests will be carded at the door. The evening’s attire is dressy, tuxes and gowns and even retro prom outfits for some.

  • Community Events; March 7, 2016

    Free kidney education class Tuesday


    TELL CITY – There will be a Free Kidney Smart Education class on Tuesday, March 8, at 10 to 11:30 a.m. at the Fifth Third Bank Community Room in Tell City.

    The class is free and open to anyone that’s been diagnosed with kidney disease and family members are encouraged to attend with patients.

  • Rock concert for kids March 12

    TELL CITY – LHDC Early Head Start and Head Start present ScribbleMonster Saturday, March 12, from 9 to 10 a.m. at William Tell elementary School.

    There is no cost for the event, but donations will be accepted. ScribbleMonster encourages children to participate and think in creative ways, all while having fun at an age-appropriate, wholesome mini rock concert. The event is presented in conjunction with William Tell elementary Strengthening Families.

  • Great Day of Service returning April 23

    PERRY COUNTY – Can you be a blessing to others? Pastor Dan Hopkins at First Baptist Church in Tell City believes you can. He and other area ministers are inviting individuals, organizations and businesses to take part in the second annual Great Day of Service Saturday, April 23..

    The event is in the planning stages but will include reaching out to others in the community and helping to meet some of their needs.

  • 4-H sponsoring mulch fundraiser

    PERRY COUNTY – Perry County’s 4-H organization is planning a mulch fundraiser. A team of 4-H volunteers and junior leaders, with at least one supervising adult, will do all the work to spread the mulch when it is delivered.

    All of the money raised from selling much will support Perry County 4-H.

    Cost is $3 per bag (2 cubic feet) or $25 per scoop. There will be a $10 additional charge for deliveries outside Tell City limits. Deliveries will be made all day Saturday, April 30, and the afternoon of Sunday, May 1.

    Horseman’s Club day of trading March 12


    TELL CITY – Southern Indiana Horseman’s Club will hold its annual Big T’s Trade Day event at the club property located at 9455 Summer Road, Saturday, March 12, beginning at noon.

    The public is invited to browse the selection of unique trading goods such as horse tack, tools, furniture, fencing supplies, household appliances and small animals. No fee will be charged to traders, buyers or sellers. All deals are between sellers and buyers.

  • St. Pius’ annual euchre party set for March 5

    TROY – The St. Pius Conference of Catholic Women ladies will host their annual card party Saturday, March 5, in St. Pius hall. Doors open at 6 p.m. with play beginning at 7. Prizes will be awarded.  Coffee, food, drinks and desert will be served. The cost is $10.

  • Hunter education course April 5-7 in Spencer County

    CHRISNEY – An Indiana Hunter Education class will be held April 5-7 at Cornerstone United Methodist Church near Chrisney. 

    Class times are 6 to 9:30 p.m. each evening and students must attend all three nights to receive a certificate of completion.

    Certified instructors will teach classes and an Indiana conservation officer will be available to answer legal questions.

  • Renaissance class yard sale set for March 12

    TELL CITY – The Tell City Junior-Senior High School Renaissance Class has scheduled its annual yard sale for Saturday, March 12, 2016 in the auxiliary gym. The sale will be held from 6 a.m. to noon.

    Those attending are asked to enter through the student parking lot doors.

    Items available will include women’s, men’s and children’s apparel, household items, home décor, toys, furniture, appliances and a variety of books.
