  • Cannelton Christmas Parade Nov. 25

    CANNELTON – The Cannelton Christmas Parade held annually by the Cannelton American Legion Unit 142 will be held on Friday, Nov. 25, at 6 p.m. Line-up will begin at 4:30 p.m. and all entries should assemble on Old Indiana 37.

    Business, community and civic groups wanting to participate should contact Arvina Bozarth at (812) 547-6284 or Martha Graves at (812) 547-1556.  Awards will be given to the top three entries in each category.

  • Neighborhood Noel will support Crisis Connection

    JASPER – You can’t buy happiness but you can support a great cause, while shopping local ... and that’s kind of the same thing!

    This Saturday, Nov. 5, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. EDT, some truly generous individuals led by Lori Wigand and Jen Tolbert of Jasper will host Neighborhood Noel at Jasper Engines and Transmissions West, located at 911 Division Road in Jasper.

    St. Meinrad American Legion selling dinners


    ST. MEINRAD – St. Meinrad American Legion will sell barbecue chicken and pork chop dinners Sunday, Nov. 13.

    Dinners will be available beginning at 7 a.m. at the Village Hut in Fulda, at the Legion Home, and at the area churches after their Masses. There will be a euchre tourney at 1 p.m. at the Legion Home followed by the maintenance and repair raffle. There will also be an open house. The public is invited to attend these events.


  • Ceramics exhibit on display at library gallery

    ST. MEINRAD – Saint Meinrad Archabbey Library Gallery is hosting “Clay It Forward,” an exhibit of ceramics by Alisa Holen and her students.

    Holen, an assistant professor at the University of Southern Indiana, will exhibit her works, along with that of some of her students, from now through Dec. 3.

    Holen earned a Master of Fine Arts at the University of Iowa in 2004. Since then, she has been teaching and showing her work regionally and nationally. She currently has a solo exhibit in the International Gallery of Contemporary Art in Anchorage, AK.

    St. Meinrad breakfast Nov. 6


    ST. MEINRAD – St. Meinrad Community Center will hold an all-you-can-eat breakfast Nov. 6, from 7 to 11 a.m.

    The breakfast will cost $8 per person and will include a pancake, sausage, biscuits and gravy, coffee, juice and milk. The cost will be $8 per person.

    Cannelton Trunk or Treat Oct. 29


    CANNELTON – The second annual Cannelton community Trunk or Treat will be held Oct. 29, from 2 to 4 p.m. at Gazebo Park in Cannelton.

    Guests are invited to come dressed in costume. There will be lots of candy and games for all ages.

    Several local churches and school groups will participate.

  • PCMH Auxiliary Holiday Bazaar Nov. 3

    TELL CITY – The Perry County Memorial Hospital Auxiliary will hold its annual Holiday Bazaar from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 3, 2016.  There will also be a silent auction.

  • Chamber of Commerce announces 26th annual Witches Walk Oct. 27

    TELL CITY – The Perry County Chamber of Commerce and area merchants will be “treating” local residents to a safe Halloween during this year’s Witches Walk scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 27 from 5 to 7 p.m. 

    Children will go store-to-store dressed in costumes seeking “goodies” from local merchants who are participating in the Witches Walk.

    Chili Supper at Troy UMC


    TROY – Troy United Methodist Church will hold a chili supper, complete with desserts and beverages Saturday, Nov. 5, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the church.

    The church is located on the corner of Walnut and Spring Streets in Troy.

    Join church members for a fun evening of fellowship and a free meal, free-will donations will be gratefully accepted.

  • ‘Trunks of Treats’ event set for Oct. 31

    TELL CITY – The Tell City First United Methodist Church will hold its eighth Annual Trunks of Treats Oct. 31, from 5 to 8 p.m. in the church parking lot. For those who would like to participate with a vehicle this year, let organizers know by contacting the church office at (812) 547-2800 or by e-mail at tellcityumc@gmail.com. The church is always in need for lots of treats so for those who would like to donate candy, there will be a cart just inside the church’s front doors. Monetary donations are also accepted by contacting the church office.
