  • ‘Tall Tales’ book signing at TC museum Feb. 25

    TELL CITY – On Monday, Feb. 25, at 6 p.m., Stephen Saalman will be at the Tell City Historical Society Museum, located at the corner of Ninth and Franklin streets, to discuss his newest book, “Tall Tales from the Tattletown and Other forgotten Communities of Perry County Indiana.”

  • National Players returning March 8-9

    Saint Meinrad Archabbey will once again host the National Players, America’s longest-running classical touring company, as it presents plays on March 8 and 9.

    On Friday, March 8, the actors will perform Shakespeare’s “Twelfth Night,” while the performance on Saturday, March 9, will be “Around the World in 80 Days” based on the book by Jules Verne as adapted by Laura Eason.

    TELL CITY – Members from the William Tell Center will host a soup supper at The Depot on Friday, Feb. 22, from 4 to 6 p.m., eat in or carry out. Cost is $5. Menu includes chili or chicken soup, hot dog or smoked Polish sausage, chips, crackers, drink and dessert.

    TELL CITY – The William Tell Center will host a soup supper at The Depot on Friday, Feb. 22, from 4 to 6 p.m., eat in or carry out. Cost is $5. Menu includes chili or chicken soup, hot dog or smoked Polish sausage, chips, crackers, drink and dessert.

     

    Writers workshop set for Tuesday

     

  • Casino night at St. Augustine March 9

    LEOPOLD – St. Augustine Catholic Church in Leopold will have a casino night on Saturday, March 9. Registration starts at 5 p.m., tournament starts at 6 p.m. Games will be Texas Hold-em and euchre.

    Tournaments will follow Robert’s Rules of poker. Texas Hold-em has a $40 buy-in with unlimited $20 add-ons for the first two hours. Euchre tournament has a one-time $5 buy-in. Reservations are available and limited to first 50 players for Texas Hold-em.

    Available concessions will be burgers, pulled pork, creek fries, desserts, soft drinks and water.

  • Rome friends to meet Feb. 28

    TELL CITY – The Friends of 1818 Rome Courthouse will meet the evening of Feb. 28 in the Fifth-Third Bank conference room. The group is focused on fundraising efforts to aid the renovations of the 200-year-old building.

    TELL CITY – The Humane Society of Perry County will hold its monthly meeting Tuesday, Feb. 12, at 6 p.m. at the Fifth-Third Bank in Tell City.

    Knights Club breakfast buffet Sunday

     

    TELL CITY – The Tell City Knights Club will hold an all-you-can-eat breakfast buffet on Sunday, Feb. 10, at the K of C in Tell City from 8 a.m. to noon. Cost is $7.50 for adults and $3.50 for kids 12 and under. Menu includes scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, hash browns, biscuits, gravy, French toast sticks and served with coffee, juice or milk.

    Writers workshop set for Feb. 19

     

    TELL CITY – Writers of all types are welcome to attend a writing workshop discussion on Tuesday, Feb. 19, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., at the Tell City Public Library. The group welcomes all writers 18 or older for fiction as well as nonfiction, to share their writing and have an opportunity for discussion.

    This program is free and open to the public. Participants are encouraged to take a sample of their writing.
