    Lincoln Day

    dinner Saturday

    TELL CITY – The Perry County Lincoln Day dinner will be held on Saturday, April 21, at the Schergens Center in Tell City. The event will begin at 4:30 p.m. The public is invited and tickets are $20 per person. Guest speakers will include U.S. Rep. Larry Bucshon, State Auditor Tera Klutz, State Sen. Erin Houchin and State Rep. Stephen Bartels.

    THE NEXT WILLIAM TELL CENTER dance will take place Saturday, April 21, from 7 to 10 p.m., with Southern Edge performing. The cost is $5 for ages 12 and up. All ages are welcome to attend.

    The Center also hosts line dancing every Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m.

    HARRY G. MYERS AMERICAN LEGION POST 142 in Cannelton hosts bingo each Friday. Doors open at 5 p.m., early bingo is held at 6 p.m. and regular bingo games begin at 7 p.m. The public is invited.

  • A heroes tribute: Honor Flight next month

    EVANSVILLE – Honor Flight will again debark May 5 and is looking for veterans who served during Dec. 7, 1941 through June 26, 1950. Any veteran, any branch, including those who didn’t serve overseas. If the members of the Tri-State of a deserving Veteran who hasn’t flown on an Honor Flight sign them up through the website at www.honorflightsi.org

  • Date change for EUCC family activities night to mark Child Abuse Prevention Month

    EDIT: The event will be held on Wednesday, April 25 from 4 to 6 p.m. instead of previously published dates.

     

    TELL CITY – The Perry County Department of Child Services will host a community event for Child Abuse Prevention Month April 25 from 4 to 6 p.m. at Evangelical United Church of Christ.

    There will be games, give aways, food and fun for everyone. The event is designed to have community partners available to hand out and discuss information with the community to prevent child abuse.

  • Masonic lodge car show May 6

    TELL CITY – The Tell City Masonic Lodge #623’s 14th annual car show will be held on Sunday, May 6. Registration begins at 8 a.m. and ends at noon. Judging begins at 11 a.m.

    Awards will be presented approximately 2 p.m. Ten top awards will be awarded for 1990 and newer cars; 25 top awards will be awarded for 1989 and older cars. Best of show GM, best of show Ford and best of show Mopar and other special trophies awarded. Concessions will be available. Good food, fun and entertainment.

  • Tractor club to meet April 26

    BRANCHVILLE – The Ohio Valley Tractor Club will hold their monthly meeting Thursday, April 26, at 7 p.m. The meeting will be held at the Branchville conservation club.

    Members should try to attend, as the group will be discussing upcoming student scholarships.

  • Workshop will showcase spring hive chores

    LEOPOLD – Want to learn how to move honeybees from a “nuc” to a full hive? Bring your bee jacket and join the Perry County Beekeepers on Thursday, April 19.

    Beekeepers are encouraged to take extra jackets and hoods for those who do not yet have protective equipment.

  • Libraries ready to ‘rock and read’ this summer

    TELL CITY – Time away from school means it’s time for Perry County Public Library Libraries ROCK! and the Summer Reading 2018 Summer Activities programs.

    Starting with Libraries ROCK!, readers of all ages will explore all things musical this summer as the library presents “Libraries Rock” during the summer activities.

    Activities may include group games, musical crafts, art projects, musical instruments, dance, learning about different musical genres, and more.
