  • Saint Meinrad exhibit features artist Kathryn Waters

    ST. MEINRAD – Saint Meinrad Archabbey Library Gallery is hosting an art exhibit, called “Drawing the World,” by Kathryn Waters of Evansville. The show runs through May 12.

  • Tell City Kiwanis to host ‘Walk of Honor’

    TELL CITY – The Tell City Kiwanis is kicking off the year with a patriotic way to support the youth in our community. The “Walk of Honor” project will allow flags to be flown in Tell City’s City Hall Park in honor or memory of individuals or businesses. The American flags will exhibit community patriotism and allow the community to memorialize or honor a loved one (can be a veteran or non-veteran) or family.

    PCMH geranium sales continue

     

    TELL CITY – The Perry County Memorial Hospital Auxiliary is selling geraniums provided by VIP Foliage. Geraniums are $3.50 and are available in red, pink, salmon and white. Orders will be taken until April 19 with pick up dates of April 30 and May 1. Contact auxiliary president Donna Harpenau at (812) 547-2774 or any auxiliary member to place an order.

    Lip synch battle Saturday

     

    TELL CITY – The Tell City Renaissance Leadership class will host the 12th annual lip sync competition on Saturday, April 6. The event will be held in the auditorium beginning at 7 p.m., doors open at 6:15. The public is invited to the event at $3 per student and $5 per adult.

  • Dragging Main again set for Cannelton Streets

    CANNELTON – The annual Dragging Main Redbud event set for Cannelton will be Saturday April 13. The Cannelton drag plays on bygone times when one of the major gathering spots brought many through town on their way to the Cannelton Locks and Dam.

  • Sunshine and Rainbows pageant fundraiser April 14

    TELL CITY – A baby to teen pageant fundraiser, Sunshine and Rainbows for Charlie, will be held Sunday, April 14, at the Tell City Depot at 2 p.m. Contestant categories are from 0 to 16 years old. Registration fee is $15.

    Age groups are 0-11 months, 12-23 months and 3-4 years. A Sunday Best Dress category will be for ages 5-7 years, 8-9 years, 10-13 years and 14-16 years. The last four age groups can be formal or pageant wear.

    Contestants will all receive a goodie bag. First, second and third places will receive a ribbon and medal in each category.

  • Orscheln, Humane Society plan Easter egg hunt April 13

    TELL CITY – Orscheln Farm & Home will host its annual Easter-egg Hunt from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 13.  Registration will begin at 11:45 a.m.

    A $1 donation will be requested and all proceeds will benefit the Humane Society of Perry County.  For more information, contact the store at (812) 547-7444.

    The Humane Society will also be accepting new or recycled plastic eggs to help with future hunts.  Donated eggs may be dropped off at Orscheln Farm & Home.

    RFD annual meeting Today

     

    ROME – The annual meeting of the Rome Fire Department will be held Monday, April 1, at the Rome Community Center at 7 p.m. Three directors are up for election this year. Dues for the year are $30 for the first property. 

    Additional properties are $15 each. Dues must be paid by April 1 to be eligible to vote. They can be paid at the annual meeting.

  • Tell City’s second half-marathon set for April 6

    TELL CITY– EverBody’s Fun & Fitness Center will host the second annual Tell City Half Marathon and 5K on April 6. The public is invited to take part for a run/walk on the streets of Tell City, county and state roads, and the Ohio and Windy Creek Greenways.

    Vendor sales at Fifth-Third Saturday

     

    TELL CITY – Fifth-Third Bank in Tell City will be hosting an open house for the public with vendors on Saturday, March 30, from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. Vendors available selling their wares will be Bees Bargains, Color Street, Thirty One Gifts, Unique, Young Living and Norwex.
