  • Lincoln Boyhood Memorial park to host hands-on workshops

    LINCOLN CITY – Lincoln Boyhood National Memorial has renewed the series of hands-on workshops concerning the operation of the living historical farm this year.
    Workshops will be held from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, March 17, April 7, May 5, Aug. 11, Sept. 22, Oct. 13 and Nov. 3. There is no charge for the workshops beyond the park entrance fee.

    TELL CITY – Tell City American Legion will host a euchre tourney today at the post home.
    Games will begin at 7 p.m. The public is invited to attend.

  • Boating-ed class in Jasper Saturday

    JASPER – Indiana Conservation officers will conduct a boating safety course at the Jasper Moose Family Center, 2507 N. Newton Street, in Jasper Saturday.
    Class will begin at 9 a.m. and will end at 4 p.m.
    The boater education class is open to the public and graduates of this course will receive the Indiana Boater Safety Education certificate.
    This certification will enable those who are 15 years of age with an identification card to operate a motorboat on Indiana waters.

    Beta Sigma Phi meeting today
    TELL CITY – Mu Gamma Chapter of Beta will meet at 6 p.m. today at the Patio for its annual Valentine’s party.
    Hostesses will be the special-events committee.

  • Girl Scouts announce cookie booth sale dates

    TELL CITY – Local Girl Scouts are delivering cookies now through March 12. Customers can also purchase boxes of cookies for $3.50 each at cookie booth sales through out the county, while supplies last.
    Sales for Perry County this year were down about 59 cases, with a total sale of 1,268 cases for the area.
    Booth sales in Perry County are as follows:
    From 3 to 6 p.m. Feb. 17 at Fifth Third Bank in Tell City.
    From 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Feb. 17 at Noble’s IGA.
    From 9 a.m. to sell out Feb. 18 at Fifth Third Bank in Tell City.

    TELL CITY – The Heartsaver First Aid and CPR with AED class will be held from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Wednesday. A skills test is required for the certification class. Class fee is $55 and registration is required by Tuesday.
    A Family and Friends CPR class is designed for the layperson wanting to know CPR and choking-rescue skills. No testing is required. This class is not for those requiring certification cards for job or school requirements. Fee for the two-hour class is $10. Registration deadline is the day before your scheduled class.
