  • ‘Young Abe Lincoln’ returns

    For those who missed the return of Billy Edd Wheeler’s “Young Abe Lincoln” in 2017, an encore and final presentation is happening this July 5-7 and July 12-14, at the Lincoln Amphitheatre in Lincoln City. Doors for each performance will open at 6 p.m. central time with a 7 p.m. start.

    Farmers market twice weekly

     

    TELL CITY – Tell City’s twice-weekly farmers market is  underway.

    Hours are set for 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesdays and 8 to 10 a.m. Saturdays. Vendors are welcome to sell locally grown fruits and vegetables. This year’s market will add a local beef and pork producer. For more information, call (812) 547-7933.

    TELL CITY – There is a fundraising opening for a local nonprofit wanting to sponsor and provide workers for a food booth at this year’s Schweizer Fest.

    Supplement-use seminar today

     

    TELL CITY – Oakwood Health Campus, 1143 23rd St., will host an educational seminar on the use of Supplements In Keeping our Brains Healthy. Guest Speaker Cindy Jones of Herbs & Healthcare will give the latest information on brain health.

  • Applications sought for 12th annual Kenny Kellems Camp with a Cop

    PERRY COUNTY – This year marks the 12th annual “Kenny Kellems Camp with a Cop” summer youth camp.  Local law enforcement officers will again be hosting the camp at Glenn Wood Hills in Derby. Campers will be dropped off Tuesday, July 17, at the Tell City High School – Tell Street Parking Lot. Campers will stay July 17 through July 20. Campers will be released on Friday July 20 after a 5 p.m. graduation ceremony.

  • Finalists announced for country showdown

    JASPER – Anticipation and excitement is higher than ever as aspiring country music artists prepare for the 37th annual WBDC country showdown, held at the Jasper Arts Center on Thursday, June 7, at 6:30 p.m.

    Thirteen acts from across the region are performing this year, with a few returning and several making their showdown debut. Each is vying to win over $1,000 in cash and prizes.

    The acts taking the stage in this year’s showdown are:
