  • Dragging Main Summer Bash June 22

    TELL CITY – The popular Dragging Main series has added an additional event this year when the Summer Bash Tractor Cruise-in and Retro Cruise get underway Saturday, June 22.

    Events get underway at 9 a.m. with the Tractor Cruise-In at City Hall Park. Area vintage and working tractors will be on display. Anyone is invited to show at the Cruise-In.

    Participants are asked to park in the grassy lots on Seventh St. and use Mozart Street to cross Main St. to City Hall.

    TELL CITY – The Perry County Chamber of Commerce will hold a ribbon cutting for Bliss Artisan, 600 Humboldt St. in Tell City, on Monday, June 17, from 10:30 to 11 a.m.

    LEOPOLD – The Ohio valley tractor club will hold their monthly meeting Tuesday, June 18, at Perry Central School at 7 p.m. in the Ag building.

  • ‘Here I Grew Up’ set for Lincoln Amphitheatre stage

    LINCOLN CITY – “Here I Grew Up,” a world premiere musical, will come to life June 28 and 29 and July 11-13 at the Lincoln Amphitheatre in Lincoln City. Doors for each performance will open at 6 p.m. with a 7 p.m. start. With one 15-minute intermission, the end time will be approximately 9:15 p.m.

    Elder Advantage seminar at Oakwood today

     

    TELL CITY – Oakwood Health Campus will host an educational seminar Thursday, June 13, at 2 p.m. with Elder Advantage available to answer questions regarding veterans’ benefits, Medicaid representation and asset preservation to help ease the financial burden.     Multiple sclerosis group meets Tuesday

     

    PERRY COUNTY – A multiple sclerosis support group will have its next meeting on Tuesday, June 11. The group meets every second Tuesday of every month at 11 a.m. at Twilight Towers, 1648 10th St., Tell City, in the cafeteria. Individuals, family and friends of MS victims are welcome to the discussion.

    First UMC yard and bake sale Friday, Saturday

     

    TELL CITY – First United Methodist Church in Tell City, located on 10th and Mozart streets, with hold a yard and bake sale on Friday, May 31, from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday, June 1, from 7 to 11 a.m. The public is welcome.

     

    Horseshoes league signups due Saturday

     

    LEOPOLD – The Leopold horseshoe league will have its first day of tossing Thursday, June 13, at Leopold Park.

    Writers workshop Tuesday

    TELL CITY – A writer’s group will meet on Tuesday, May 21, at 6:30 p.m. at the Perry County Public Library in Tell City.

    Writers are encouraged to take a sample of their writing. Rough drafts and outlines are fine to use for discussion. The group is aiming to have monthly meetings to see how members’ writing grows and improves. Anyone who wishes to discuss a writing sample or who is interested in improving his or her writing is welcome to attend.

  • Southern rockers Molly Hatchet to perform at the Lincoln Amphitheatre June 1

    LINCOLN CITY – Rock and roll veterans Molly Hatchet will bring their famed southern rock catalog to the Lincoln Amphitheatre for a near sold out performance on Saturday, June 1. Doors for the show open at 5 p.m. and local and regional favorites Eighty-Sixt will open with a performance at 6:30 p.m. Molly Hatchet will take the stage at 7:30 p.m. All times are central.

    The June 1 performance is presented by the Perry County Community Foundation and the Spencer County Community Foundation.

    TELL CITY – The Daughters of Isabella mother-daughter dinner will be held Tuesday, May 14, at 6:30 p.m. Please bring a covered dish. Meat will be provided.     TELL CITY – The Perry County Chapter of the Indiana Retired Teachers Association will meet for a luncheon at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 7, at the Patio. John Mundy, director of the Perry County Public Library, will speak after the meal. All members are encouraged to attend.
