  • Cannelton Gospel Tabernacle Church to host revival services

    CANNELTON – The Cannelton Gospel Tabernacle Church will open its doors to the public for revival services with evangelists James and Jennifer McMikin.
    The McMikins are musicians, singers and song writers and minister a message for today’s church.
    The night services will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 3, and Saturday, Nov. 4. Sunday’s service, Nov 5, will be held at 1 p.m. A luncheon will be served immediately after the Sunday service.

  • Parish mission starts Monday

    ST. MEINRAD – Fr. Jim Sichko will host a parish mission for St. Boniface and St. Meinrad parishes Monday through Wednesday, Oct. 16-18.

    Each one-hour session begins at 6:30 p.m. at St. Meinrad Church. The Wednesday evening session will be for all Faith Formation classes and parents.

    There is no charge to attend any of the sessions.

    Fr. Jim uses real-life experiences, tied to the Gospel message, that speak to all members of the family. 

  • Abbey to host piano, violin concert

    ST. MEINRAD – A free concert featuring piano and violin will be held on Sunday, Oct. 22, at 3 p.m.  in the theater in St. Bede Hall, on the Saint Meinrad Archabbey campus.

    Violinist Aaron Boaz and pianist Krista Wallace-Boaz will perform works by Mozart, Brahms and Debussy, as well as by John Williams, Amy Beach and John Morris.

    Branchville UMC 200-year celebration Sunday

     

    BRANCHVILLE – Branchville United Methodist Church will celebrate its 200th anniversary on Sunday, Oct. 15. The congregation will hold its regular worship service at 9:30 a.m. with a meal to follow. Everyone is welcome to attend.

  • USI Chamber Choir in Ferdinand Oct. 29

    FERDINAND – The University of Southern Indiana Chamber Choir will perform at Monastery Immaculate Conception in Ferdinand on Sunday, Oct. 29, at 3 p.m. Eastern time, for the eighth annual Mechtilde of Hackeborn Sacred Music Series.

    Women’s hike set for Oct. 28

     

    TELL CITY – BE Ministry, will take a day trip to God’s Country, north of Bristow at 10 a.m. on Oct. 28.  Join the group for light hiking while viewing the Stations of the Cross and be renewed by your faith. 

  • Archabbey honors co-workers

    ST. MEINRAD – Saint Meinrad Archabbey honored 39 co-workers and 40 retirees during the annual Service Recognition Banquet Thursday evening.

    Archabbot Kurt Stasiak OSB offered appreciation on behalf of the monastic community. “Tonight we make a special effort to count our blessings, and we thank you, our co-workers, for being a blessing to us. In many ways, you have benefited us; you have done Saint Meinrad good.”

    Janet Ann Werne of St. Henry was honored for 50 years of service. She received a framed print of the Archabbey Church.

  • Monte Cassino pilgrimages begin Sunday

    ST. MEINRAD – Saint Meinrad Archabbey’s pilgrimages to honor the Blessed Mother at the Monte Cassino Shrine have been scheduled for the Sundays in October. At the first event, the newly restored  chapel and grounds will be blessed by Saint Meinrad Archabbot Kurt Stasiak, OSB.

    The pilgrimages begin with an opening hymn and a short sermon, followed by a rosary procession. The service ends with the Litany of the Blessed Virgin and a hymn. Speakers and topics for the pilgrimages are:
