Troopers arrest man for promoting prostitution

Troy resident allegedly solicited underage girl

SPENCER COUNTY – Indiana State Police from the Jasper Post arrested a Troy man Monday for promoting prostitution.

A preliminary information reveals that an investigation was initiated after a complaint was received that Gary L. Hackmann, 56, of Troy allegedly offered to pay a girl under 18 years old to perform sexual acts.

Through the investigation enough probable cause was allegedly established and an arrest warrant was issued for Hackmann. Armed with the warrant, troopers went to his residence-business, The Riverside Diner, located at 315 Franklin St. in Troy and arrested him.

Charged with a Class B felony count of promoting prostitution, he was transported to the Spencer County Jail without incident.

Trooper Detective Robert Gardner and Trooper Jason Dunsworth led the investigation.
