TC swimming wins home meet against Corydon

TELL CITY – On Saturday, the Tell City boys swimming team, in a home meet, placed 3rd out of 5 teams. Neal Hollinden, Reed Elliot, Drew Ettensohn and Josh Gaynor were the relayers for the 200-yard medley, placing second in a time of 1:59.
Bryson Karnes, Jack Goffinet, Caydin Jones and Killian Gaynor placed second in the 250-yard relay finishing with a time of 2:42.  
In the 400-yard medley relay, Miles Brown, Hollinden, Elliot and Ettensohn placed first with a time of 4:32; two seconds faster than Jasper which came in second.
For the 200-yard freestyle relay, Killian Gaynor, Jones, Goffinet and Karnes finished in fourth place with a time of 2:13. Brown, Reed and Ettensohn placed second in the 3x50-yard butterfly relay, finishing in 1:26; 2 seconds behind Mount Vernon.
In the 200-yard stroke relay, Killian Gaynor, Goffinet, Jones and Karnes finished in fourth place with a time of 2:29.
In the 1000-yard freestyle relay, Hollinden, Elliot and Josh and Killian Gaynor came in second place with a time of 11:57.
Brown, Josh Gaynor and Holliden placed second in the 3x50-yard backstroke relay, finishing with a time of 1:31.
Goffinet, Jones, Brown, and Josh Gaynor participated in the 400-yard freestyle relay finishing in second place with a time of 4:21.
“The boys swam really well today. Some of the boys that are new to swimming really stepped up when they needed to and did a great job,” said Tell City coach Stacy Marion.
On Tuesday, Tell City’s swimming team matched up against Corydon, winning in a home meet.
In the girls 200-yard medley relay, Lily Marion, Mary Hollinden, Emma Ettensohn and Kayla Combs  placed first with a time of 2:07.
Emma Armstrong, Shay Brager, Maddie Rogers and Ireland Gaynor placed  third with a time of 2:29.
Brenna Frazman, Hannah Jones, Taylor Kratzer and Aryanna Russell came in 5th place, finishing in 2:43.
For the boys Neal Hollinden, Reed Elliot, Drew Ettensohn and Miles Brown placed first in the boys 200-yard medley relay, finishing in 1:57.
In the girls 200-yard freestyle race, Emma Armstrong finished in first place in 2:25.
Breanna Frazman placed third in the race finishing with a time of 2:43. Ireland Gaynor finished two seconds behind Frazman taking fourth place in the race.
For the boys 200-yard freestyle, Neal Hollinden placed first, finishing with a time of 2:09. Killian Gaynor finished in 2:20 placing second in the race.
Lily Marion finished in second place for the girls 200-yard IM race, with a time of 2:38. Carli Hosler came in third place, finishing in 2:44.
Shay Brager finished the race in 3:00 and placed fourth. Drew Ettensohn finished in second place for the boys 200-yard IM race with a time of 2:26.
For the girls 50-yard freestyle race, Emma Ettensohn took first place with a time of 28.94. Valerie Kehl came in fourth place, finishing in 31.80. Maddie Rogers finished in 6th place with a time of 34.98. Miles Brown came in first place in the boys 50-yard freestyle, finishing in 24.17.
Caydin Jones came in second place, finishing in 27.29. Josh Gaynor participated in the boys 1 meter diving, receiving a score of 203.30.
In the girls 100-yard butterfly race, Emma Ettensohn finished in first place with a time of 1:15.20 Carli Hosler placed third in the race, finishing with a time of 1:15.85.
Maddie Rogers finished in 5th place in 1:32. For the boys 100-yard butterfly, Drew Ettensohn placed first, finishing in 57.68.
Miles Brown placed third in the race, finishing in 1:00. Kayla Combs came in first place for the girls 100-yard freestyle, finishing with a time of 1:01.
Taylor Kratzer placed third in the race with a time of 1:10. Emma Johns came in fifth place in 1:16. In the boys 100-yard freestyle, Josh Gaynor finished in first place with a time of 59.68.
Caydin Jones came in second place with a time of 1:04. Jack Goffinet placed fourth in the race, finishing in 1:15.
For the 500-yard freestyle, Mary Hollinden placed first with a time of 5:57. Emma Armstrong came in second place, finishing in 6:22.
 Ireland Gaynor, finished in third place with a time of 7:14. Elliot Reed placed first in the boys 500-yard freestyle, finishing in 5:58. Killian Gaynor came in second place with a time of 6:32 in the race.
In the girls 200-yard freestyle relay, Holser, Brager, Armstrong, Ettensohn placed first, with a time of 2:03.
Franzman, Kratzer, Kehl and Gaynor finished in third place in 2:10. Goffinet, Jones, Killian and Josh Gaynor placed first for the boys 200-yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:54.
For the girls 100-yard backstroke, Marion placed first with a time of 1:08. Combs came in second place in 1:14. Johns came in sixth place with a time of 1:34. Hollinden placed first in the boys 100-yard backstroke, finishing in 1:04.
For the girls 100-yard breaststroke, Mary Hollinden came in second place with a time of 1:19. Valerie Khel came in fifth place in 1:41.
Reed placed second in the boys 100-yard breaststroke, finishing with a time of 1:22. Goffinet came in third place, finishing in 1:44.
In the girls 400-yard freestyle relay, Marion, Hosler, Combs and Hollinden placed first with a time of 4:18.
Franzman, Kratzer, Rogers and Johns placed third in the race, finishing in 5:12.
Brown, Reed, Hollinden and Ettensohn placed first in the boys 400-yard freestyle relay, finishing in 3:59.
Gaynor, Jones, Goffinet and Gaynor placed second in 4:41.
“Considering that Corydon beat us by 2 at our girls relay meet, the girls did an exceptional job. The boys performed about where I would except them to be.,” said coach Marion.
Tell City will be home against Jasper at 5:30 p.m. (Perry County time).
