Schenk graduates Mater Dei, sets sights on IU

EVANSVILLE – Jered Schenk graduated from Mater Dei High School in Evansville Sunday, May 18.

While at Mater Dei, he maintained a 3.996 grade-point average on a 4.0 scale and earned magna cum laude honors all four years. Schenk was also a two-year member of the National Honor Society and class salutatorian.

In his time at Mater Dei, Schenk played varsity soccer for four years, where he led his team to state and also set a state record. He was named the first team all-state goalie his senior year. He was a four-year varsity swimmer and an active member of the student council and student government.

In the fall, Schenk plans to attend Indiana University, where he will major in biology. He plans to attend medical school to become a radiologist.

Schenk is the son of Scott and Jane Schenk, and the grandson of Ed and Dorothy Hoffman of Tell City.
