PERRY COUNTY – This year’s dates have been set for the ninth annual Kenny Kellems Camp With a Cop summer youth retreat. The camp will again be held at Glenn Wood Hills in Derby.

The format has been changed based upon comments from previous campers and have added an additional night. Kids will be dropped off Tuesday, July 14, stay Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday nights and will be picked up Friday, July 17. Staff members have again planned a variety of activities including scuba experience, zip lining, confidence course, fishing and swimming, just to name a few.

The camp is designed to give kids entering fifth through ninth grades with a positive environment to build confidence in themselves. Police officers from several agencies interact with the children to also foster positive images of law enforcement.

The camp is open to boys and girls from anywhere. Cost is $35 per person and sponsors are available as needed. No child will be turned away due to cost. Space is limited and deadline for register for this year’s camp is July 1.

Applications for camp will be available online at canneltonpolice.com and also can be picked up at the Tell City and Cannelton police departments Also, check out the camp’s facebook page for more information.
