Perry Central wins tourneys

LINCOLN CITY—MaKenna Labhart served eight aces, made four kills, and had three assists as Perry Central beat Forest Park 25-22, 25-20 to win Heritage Hills’ seventh grade volleyball tourney Saturday.


Madelyn Kelly added five aces, two kills and three assists. Lily Hurm served three aces.

Kelly went 13 for 13 serving with 10 aces as Perry Central beat Heritage Hills 25-13, 25-6 in the first round. She also had three assists and one kill.

Hurm added nine aces, Labhart six, and Molly Briggeman four.

Labhart had five kills and three assists.

Perry Central also won the eighth grade tourney, beating Heritage Hills 25-23, 25-22 in the first round and Forest Park 25-16, 25-20 for the title.

Carly Lasher served six aces and made one kill against Forest Park.

Jadyn Smith added three aces and three kills, Kendall Cash three aces and two kills, and Maggie Cunningham three aces.

Cunningham served five aces and Smith made three kills against Heritage Hills.

Perry Central’s eighth grade also beat West Washington in a home match Monday 25-11, 25-13 as Cash and Lasher each served five aces and Emily Parker added four.

Lasher also had two kills and two assists and Smith had two kills and one assist.

West Washington won the seventh grade match 17-25, 25-24, 15-8 though Labhart had six kills, four aces and three assists for Perry Central.

Kelly added 10 assists and two kills and Hurm served three aces.
