Olga Phillips, 90

TELL CITY – Olga Agnes (Aders) Phillips, 90, passed away Wednesday, April 6, 2011, at Perry County Memorial Hospital.

She was born Aug. 21, 1920, in Bristow to the late Riley and Martha (Jeffers) Aders.
Olga was married in Bristow, Feb. 17, 1946, to James W. Phillips, who preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death were her parents; a brother, Cecil Aders and her sisters, Evelyn (Herman) Holman and Mary (Harold) Lamkin.
She worked at General Electric, was a store clerk and sold Avon in later years. She enjoyed quilting, playing bingo, solving word jumbles and attending her grandchildren’s and great-grandchildren’s sports events.
She was a member of Bristow Christian Church and Tell City Chapter 272 Order of the Eastern Star.
Surviving is her son, James Robert Phillips and his wife Mary of Tell City; her grandchildren, Julie Foster and her husband, Tim of St. Meinrad and Mike Phillips and his wife, Mary of Tell City; her great-grandchildren, Holli and Zach Foster and Jimmy and Rebecca Phillips; a sister, Doris Sturgeon and her husband, Wayne of Tell City; her sisters-in-law, Pearl Fulks of Rockport, Jean Oldham of Hardin, Ky., and Midge Brackett of Lafayette and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Saturday, April 9 at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home.
Brother Al Madden and nephew Rev. J.C. Phillips officiated. Burial was in Bristow City Cemetery.
