Marksmen nip Braves in final relay of meet

-A A +A

TELL CITY—Tell City placed first and third in the final event, the 400-yard free relay, to beat Tecumseh 86-82 in boys swimming Thursday.
Unlike in track, a team can enter two teams in a swimming relay and three places are scored in a relay in a dual meet.
Tell City trailed by two points entering the 400 free relay and needed to win that event to tie the Braves and to take first and third place in it to win the meet.
Miles Brown, Elliot Reed, Neal Hollinden and Drew Ettensohn won it in 3:43.40, though they trailed until Hollinden pulled them even.
