ITHACA, N.Y.—Perry Central graduate Nick Huber set a Cornell school record in the heptathlon as the Big Red won the Cornell Relays season-opening indoor track meet last weekend.
Huber, a junior, won the heptathlon in the 25-team meet with 5,370 points. Besides being a school record, that is the best score in the nation so far this season.
He ran the 60-meter dash in 7.22 seconds, went 22 feet, 51⁄4 inches in the long jump, threw the shot 41 feet, 6 inches and high jumped 6-6 the first day.
The next day he ran the 60 hurdles in 8.27, pole vaulted 13-31⁄2, and ran the 1,000 in 2:45.70.
