Energy assistance applications available

PERRY COUNTY – Lincoln Hills Development Corp. is accepting applications for the Energy Assistance Program.

The Energy Assistance Program is designed to assist income eligible households with the high costs of home energy through the partial payment of utility and fuel bills.

To date, LHDC has served 1,104 households in a three-county area with an average benefit of $414.

Households may be eligible for assistance if the household’s gross income for the past 12 months does not exceed 150 percent of the federal poverty guidelines. Income must be verified and determined for all household members age 18 and above.

The federal poverty guidelines are based on number of people in household and gross annual income. For a one-person household, gross annual income must be at or below$17,235; for two people, $23,265; for three people, $29,295; for four people, $35,325; for five people, $41,355; for six people, $47,385; for seven people, $53,415 and for eight people, $59,445
