Nugent says she’d pay to keep police dog

Managing Editor

CANNELTON – Cannelton Common Council members approved during a regular meeting Sept. 10 a first reading of a proposed city budget for 2013.

The total budget of $1,021,504 was detailed in legal ads in the Aug. 27 and Sept. 3 editions of the News, but the total amount should be $4,000 higher due to what Clerk-Treasurer Arvina Bozarth said was a problem she had with a computer program she was required to use to submit budget numbers to the state. The council approved an additional appropriation to correct the problem.
