The News erroneously reported Monday that the time of a county-commissioners meeting Oct. 21 will be shifted because the courthouse will be closed that day. Absentee voting will be conducted in the commissioners room that day, making it necessary to change the commissioners 8 a.m. meeting to 6:30 p.m. The courthouse will be open normal hours that day.

In a county-council story, The News quoted Darlene Fischer as saying she earns a $486 salary for her job as a planning-and-zoning assistant. She clarified that in a phone call Tuesday, saying the position pays $4.86 per hour.
