Marching 5k race, pancake breakfast July 2
LEOPOLD – Runners and walkers of all ages are invited to a 5k race at Perry Central schools July 2.
Sign in is at 6:30 a.m. with the race starting at 7:30. Registration forms and preview of the participant T-shirt can be found at www.marching5k.com.
Sponsorships are available with T-shirt logo and Web link.
A pancake breakfast will also be available during the morning. Cost is $5 and it is open to all.
Both events are sponsored by the Perry Central Band Boosters.

Ohio Valley tractor club to meet today
BRANCHVILLE – The Ohio Valley Tractor Association will meet at 7 p.m. today at the Branchville Conservation Club.

Hillbilly Golf Scramble July 9
BRANCHVILLE – Branchville’s first Hillbilly Golf Scramble is scheduled for Saturday, July 9 at the Old English Golf Course.
Cost is $45 per person with four people minimum per team. All-you-can-eat burgers and hot dogs will also be provided to teams. Festivities will begin with a shotgun start at 9 a.m.

No planning commission meeting this month
FERDINAND – With no pressing business to conduct, there will be no May meeting of the executive board of the Indiana 15 Regional Planning Commission. Advance notice will be sent for the next scheduled meeting.

VNA Plus to offer blood- pressure, blood-sugar screenings
TELL CITY – Visiting Nurse Association Plus will offer free blood-pressure and blood-sugar screenings in Tell City.
Screenings are scheduled from 8:30 to 10 a.m. June 7 and June 21 at Wal-Mart and from 9 to 10 a.m. June 28 at Twilight Towers.

Dale town yard sales June 10, 11
DALE – The eighth annual town-wide yard sale in Dale is scheduled for 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 10 and June 11.
Organizers urge the community to check out the bargains all over town. Deadline to register as a vendor is June 3.
Vendor registration fees will benefit the back-to-school-supply program and Toys for Kids program at Christmas. All sale ads will appear in local newspapers June 9.

Meth prevention training June 9
HAWESVILLE, Ky. – The Ice That Burns is community-based training de-veloped by the Kentucky Methamphetamine Prevention Enhancement site.
A workshop will be held at 8:30 a.m. June 9 at the Hancock County Development Complex, 1605 U.S. Highway 60 West in Haw-esville.
This workshop will help equip all sectors to use the best strategies for reducing meth-related problems in local communities. The cost of training is $30 and in-cludes breakfast and lunch.
