Block party in Cannelton Saturday
CANNELTON – Agape Community Church, 101 Taylor St., Cannelton, will host a block party at the Cotton Mill Apartments from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.
All food and activities will be free to the public. There will be a bounce house, games and face painting for children, cornhole, basketball and other activities.
All community residents are invited to attend.

Mu Gamma chapter to meet
TELL CITY – The Mu Gamma chapter of Beta Sigma Phi will meet at 6 p.m. today at the Evangelical United Church of Christ in Tell City.
Committee members are Jenny Brunner, Rosie Boling and Tammy Strobel.

FFA to sell chicken dinners Sunday
LEOPOLD – Perry Central’s FFA chapter will sell chicken dinners Sunday in Leopold Park.
Serving will begin at 10 a.m. and will continue until the group sells out. A total of 200 dinners will be made. Cost is $7 each.

Cornhole tourney Saturday
BRANCHVILLE – The Branchville Conservation Club will host a corn hole tourney at the club Saturday. The tourney will be a bring-your-own partner, double-elimination tournament.
Registration will be at 11 a.m. with games starting at noon. There will be cash payouts to the first- , second- and third-place teams. Cost is $10 per team.
Pork dinners will be served starting at 1 p.m. and a horse fun show will follow the tourney at 5 p.m.

John Williams Memorial poker run Saturday
TELL CITY – The John Williams Memorial Poker Run will be held at Braunie’s Bar, 318 Main Street, Tell City Saturday with a rain date of Sunday. Registration is from 9 to 11 a.m. All bikes will head out at 11. All bikes in will need to be in at 4:30 p.m. 
Cost is $10 per hand and $15 for double. Meal, door prizes and a half pot will also be available. All vehicles are welcome.

St. Meinrad legion to sell dinners Sunday
ST. MEINRAD – St. Meinrad American Legion Post 366 will sell barbecued-chicken and pork-chop dinners starting at 9 a.m. Sunday.
Dinners will be available at the Village Hut in Fulda, after Sunday Mass at St. Meinrad and at the legion home.

Cornhole tourney in Leopold
LEOPOLD – A cornhole tourney will be held Sept. 17 in the Leopold Memorial Park. The tourney will be take-your-own partner and single elimination.
Registration will begin at 3 p.m. Payouts will go to first- , second- and third-place winners. Contact Rick at 843-5517 for more information. If raining, the event will be canceled and re-scheduled.

Orscheln selling produce for March of Dimes
TELL CITY – Orscheln Farm and Home Supply is now selling homegrown produce. All proceeds are donated to the Perry-Spencer March of Dimes.
Anyone interested in donating garden produce for the March of Dimes can call the store at 547-7444.

Social Security reps to visit TC
TELL CITY – A representative from the Social Security office will be available to answer questions and provide information to county residents during the coming months.
Most Social Security business can be conducted by phone; however, if you prefer, you can meet with a representative Sept. 14 from 10 a.m. to noon at City Hall in Tell City.

Parks and Rec meeting Wednesday
TELL CITY – The Perry County Parks and Recreation board of directors will meet at 4 p.m. Wednesday at the County Annex in Cannelton.

Perry Central football families to meet
LEOPOLD – The Perry Central football families will gather for a meeting at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Perry Central High School study hall room.

Euchre tourney in Fulda
FULDA – The Fulda Sportsman Club will host a euchre tourney Saturday, Sept. 17 at the Club in Fulda. Doors will open at 6 p.m., with play beginning at 7 p.m. Prizes will be awarded at the end of the evening and refreshments will be provided. The public is welcome to attend.

VNA Plus to offer blood-pressure, blood-sugar screenings
TELL CITY – Visiting Nurse Association Plus will offer free blood-pressure and blood-sugar screenings in Tell City.
Screenings are scheduled from 8:30 to 10 a.m. Sept. 20 at Wal-Mart and from 9 to 10 a.m. Sept. 22 at Twilight Towers.

Aluminum can drive for Humane Society
TELL CITY – The Perry County Democrats is holding their annual aluminum can drive at the Democratic Headquarters on the corner of Rubens and 12th streets in Tell City.
All proceeds will be donated to the Humane Society.

Ferdinand Legion to host shooting match
FERDINAND – Ferdinand American Legion will host shooting matches every Friday night for beef and pork.
The closed match will start at 8:30 p.m. First choice is half a beef.

Grief support group meeting
TELL CITY – A grief support group meets at 6:30 p.m. every third Tuesday of the month at the First United Methodist Church in Tell City. The meeting is open to the public.
The next meeting will be held Sept. 20.
The church is located at 702 10th St. and is handicap accessible.

Softball tourney set for Oct. 1
TELL CITY – A co-ed softball tourney will be held Oct. 1 at the Tell City men’s softball field.
Cost is $100 per team. Teams must have at least three girls playing and have at least 10 people on the team. For more information, call 719-0291.
