Pearl Harbor Day breakfast Dec. 7


TELL CITY – A Pearl Harbor Day breakfast for veterans will be served from 7 to 10 a.m., on Thursday, Dec. 7, at American Legion Post 213. The free event, open to all veterans, is being sponsored by Ladies Auxiliary United 213.


Transitional housingbenefit Saturday


TELL CITY – The Perry County Life Center Transitional Living organization will host a chili supper, bake sale and silent auction Dec. 2, starting at 6 p.m.

Meals will include a peanut butter sandwich and drink for $8.

A guest speaker will take the podium at 6:30 and the auction will begin at 7. The event will take place at Evangelical United Church of Christ.

Proceeds will benefit the group, which offers a place to belong and heal and residents make their way toward a life of sobriety.

Donations will also be accepted.

Museum holiday open house Dec. 14.


CANNELTON  – The Perry County Museum will host a holiday open house from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 14, at the museum in Cannelton. There will be hor ‘d’oeuvres and desserts and a cash bar with Blue Heron Winery and St. Benedict’s Brew Works. The public is invited to tour the museum and see recent improvements. St. Meinrad K of C soup sale Sunday


ST. MEINRAD – St. Meinrad Knights of Columbus will sell “famous” soup on Sunday, Dec. 3, starting at 10 a.m. Those wanting to purchase soup are asked to bring their own containers. However, some containers will be available.


Troy drive, pictures with Santa planned at Orscheln


TELL CITY – Orscheln Farm and Home Supply will offer pictures with Santa Claus from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 16, at the store. A $2 donation will benefit Toys for Tots. Children and pets are welcome to stop by for a holiday photo.

Until  Dec. 16, Orscheln’s will collect new, unwrapped toys for Toys For Tots. Donations from the community for children of all ages are needed to make Christmas a little brighter for those less fortunate.


Church taking orders for Christmas candy


BRISTOW – United Pentecostal Church is now taking orders for candy for Christmas.  Orders must be placed by Friday, Dec. 15, and delivery will be on Monday, Dec. 18.  Candy available is plain fudge, fudge with walnuts, peanut butter fudge and peanut butter balls (buckeyes).  The cost is $7.50 per pound, or $3.75 per half-pound. BE Ministry retreat Jan. 6


DALE – BE Ministry will host a day workshop Jan. 6 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The event will be held at the Micah Center, located on the grounds of the Presbyterian Church  at 6 N. Main Street in Dale. 

Join in starting the New Year with “BE More” using the Made To Crave materials by Lysa Terkeurst.  Brandy Hopkins from Tell City will lead the day.  Registration begins at 7:45am.  Cost is $30 with breakfast and lunch included. 

You will also get a book if you send the payment post dated by Dec. 18 to BE Ministry; 9240 Quaker Road; Tell City, IN 47586.

Golden Living Center Bazaar Friday


TELL CITY – The resident council of Golden Living Center-Lincoln Hills will host its annual Christmas bazaar on Friday, Dec. 1, from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. There will be crafts, baked goods, candy and more.

All profits are used by the resident council for various projects. In the past, they have used the money to purchase a popcorn machine, karaoke equipment, entertain and benefit different community happenings, such as Witches Walk. The public is invited.
