Twilight Towers yard sale May 21


TELL CITY – Twilight Towers will hold its annual yard sale fundraiser on Saturday, May 21, beginning at 7 a.m. The event will take place in the dining room, located at 1648 10th Street in Tell City.

There will also be a biscuits and gravy breakfast. The cost for breakfast is $2 for a full order and $1 for a half order. Coffee, milk and orange juice will cost 50 cents. There will also be a bake sale and quilt fundraiser. Everyone is welcome.


Deer Creek Cemetery cleanup May 5


TELL CITY – The Deer Creek Baptist Church cemetery committee will be removing old floral arrangements in the cemetery Thursday.

Any arrangements or other items family wish to be kept should be removed before that time.

To aid with the mowing, trimming, and as a safety measure, new flowers or figurines should be securely fastened to the memorial stones above ground level or attached to a shepherd hook.

New items placed at ground level may be removed the next time the cemetery is mowed.


Beard Cemetery accepting trustee applications


BRISTOW – Anyone wanting to serve as a trustee for the Beard Cemetery, contact Jerry Beard at 22998 Blue Ridge Road in Bristow by May 15.

Applicants must be 25 years of age or older and have relatives buried in the Beard Cemetery.

An election will be held May 29 at the cemetery.


Maxon Luncheon set for May 10


TELL CITY – All former Maxon employees and their spouses are invited to attend a luncheon Tuesday, May 10 at 11:30 a.m. at the Patio Steakhouse, located on Indiana 66 between Tell City and Cannelton.

Free Kidney Education class May 17


TELL CITY – There will be a Free Kidney Smart Education class on Tuesday, May 17, at 10 to 11:30 a.m., Central time, at the Fifth Third Bank Community Room in Tell City.

The class is free and open to anyone that has been diagnosed with kidney disease and family members are encouraged to attend with patients as well.

Cannelton class of 1949 reunion


CANNELTON – The Cannelton High School class of 1949 will celebrate its 67th class reunion at The Patio Steakhouse Saturday, June 11, beginning at noon. For further information, call (812) 566-064.

Derby Community Association meeting May 11


DERBY – Derby Community Association will have a meeting Wednesday, May 11, at 6:30 p.m. at the Derby Community Center.

Tell City senior awards program set for May 22


TELL CITY – Tell City Junior-Senior High School will be celebrating its 2016 graduates during a Senior Awards Program Sunday, May 22, at 1 p.m. This event will be held in the high school auditorium. Humane Society to meet May 10


TELL CITY – The Humane Society of Perry County will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday, May 10, at Fifth Third Bank in Tell City. Everyone is welcome.
