Crisis Connection to sponsor Girl Talk
TELL CITY – Moms and daughters and their best girlfriends are invited to join Crisis Connection for an evening of girl talk. Girls in grades 7 through 12, along with their parents or guardians, are asked to join Crisis Connection staff to discuss the complicated relationships between girls.
The event will take place at 6 p.m. today at Tell City Junior-Senior High School. Free dinner and babysitting for children under 12 years old will be provided. Prizes will be awarded during the evening.

Horseman club will sponsor euchre games
TELL CITY – The Southern Indiana Horseman Club is hosting euchre games through March. Events are planned for Saturday, Feb. 18 and March 3, 17 and 31.
Chili, hot dogs, desserts, soft drinks and coffee will be available at 6 p.m. with games at 7. Cost at the door is $5 per person.

St. Meinrad Legion to host dance
ST. MEINRAD – St. Meinrad American Legion Post 366 will host a Valentine Dine and Dance Feb. 11 at the St. Meinrad American Legion Hall.
Tickets need to be purchased in advance at the Legion home or by calling (812) 357-5583. Admission price of $15 per person includes meal, drinks and dance. Music will be provided by The Good Times Country Band. The meal will be served at 5:30 p.m.

Twilight Towers to host dance
TELL CITY – Twilight Towers will host a Valentine’s dance open to the public from 7 until 10 p.m. Feb. 17. Crosswinds will provide entertainment.

SC Relay for Life captain meeting Feb. 6
DALE – Relay for Life of Spencer County will hold its first team captains meeting at 7 p.m. Feb. 6 at the Carter Fire Department in Dale. Anyone interested in starting a team or who has a team ready is invited to join the meeting.
Information packets will be available and a team sign-up will take place. The topic of the meeting will be information on fundraising.

First Friday screening at Memorial Hospital
JASPER – Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center will sponsor a “First Friday Health Screening” from 7 to 9 a.m. Friday in the Community Relations Classroom at Memorial’s Southside Office, 1100 West 12th Avenue in Jasper. 
Participants must be 18 years of age or older and will have cholesterol (including total cholesterol, HDL, LDL, and triglycerides) and blood glucose checked via finger stick. A 12-hour fast is required; however, you may drink water and take prescribed medications.    
The cost is $25 and may be paid at the screening. The screening lasts approximately 15 minutes, and pre-registration is required.

VNA Plus blood-pressure, blood-sugar screenings
TELL CITY – The Visiting Nurse Association Plus conducts blood-pressure and blood-sugar screenings each month at Twilight Towers.
The next screening will be from 9 to 10 a.m. Feb. 23.

PCMH to offer screenings Tuesdays
TELL CITY – Perry County Memorial Hospital will hold blood-pressure and blood-screenings every Tuesday from 8:30 to 10 a.m. at Wal-Mart in Tell City.

Hoosier Day in Sebring
SEBRING, Fla. – The annual Hoosier Day in Sebring has been scheduled for Saturday at Homer’s Buffet at the corner of Highway 27 and Sebring Parkway across from Wal-Mart.
Sign in is at 11 a.m. and the meal will be at noon.

Southern Indiana reunion set for Feb. 9
SARASOTA, Fla. – An annual southern Indiana reunion will be held at 11 a.m. Feb. 9 at the Super Buffet VI in the Sarasota Crossings Shopping Center, 5471 Fruit-ville Road in Sarasota.
The reunion was formerly held in Venice, Fla. Anyone from southern Indiana and their friends are welcome to attend.
