Cancer support meeting Tuesday


TELL CITY – A local cancer support group will meet from 6 to 7 p.m. every Tuesday in Fellowship Hall at the Evangelical United Church of Christ.

Cancer survivors, cancer patients, family members and caregivers are welcome.


Next Horseman’s club euchre game set for Saturday


TELL CITY – The Southern Indiana Horseman’s Club will host euchre games throughout fall and winter.

The next game will be held Saturday, Jan. 16.

Doors will open at 6 p.m. and games will begin at 7 p.m. Cost is $5 at the door and 25 cents per euchre game.

Prize money will be awarded at the end of the evening.

Chili, hotdogs, desserts, coffee, sodas and water will be available.

No smoking is permitted in the building. All games are open to the public ages 16 and older.

Winter games will be held Jan. 16, Jan. 30, Feb. 13, Feb. 27, March 12 and March 26.

Free, public kidney class set for Tuesday


TELL CITY – There will be a Free Kidney Smart Education class on Tuesday Jan. 12, from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at the Fifth Third Bank Community Room in Tell City.

The class is free and open to anyone who has been diagnosed with kidney disease and family members are encouraged to attend with patients.

Villas to host several events in January


TELL CITY – A wine and cheese open house is scheduled for Jan. 13 from 4 to 6 p.m. at The Villas of Oakwood, located at 1101 23rd Street, Tell City. Refreshments will be served.

A lunch and learn event will be held at the Villa Club House on Thursday, Jan. 21 at noon. The guest speaker will be Stacy McCallister,  RN and clinical liaison for Asera Care Hospice. She will explain the services offered within and information on their PRIME program. Lunch will be provided.

An open house is scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 23, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Visitors can tour one of the Villas and learn about the facility’s carefree lifestyle. Refreshments will be served.

An Essential Oil Workshop will be held Saturday, Jan. 23, at 3 p.m., led by Dinah Harpenau. The public is invited to attend. Participants are invited to learn how essential oils can be used in a variety of ways in daily life. Refreshments will be served.


Tell City Band is accepting donations


TELL CITY – The Tell City High School band booster club is accepting donations for its annual auction.

Gently used furniture and household items will be accepted. Those interested can contact any band student, parent or Renee Scott at (812) 547-1334.
