Carter scores 19 in Sycamores’ win

TERRE HAUTE—Perry Central graduate Aaorn Carter scored a team-high 19 points for Indiana State in an 80-66 Missouri Valley Conference basketball victory over Bradley Dec. 29.
He started and hit 7 of 12 shots from the field, including 3 of 7 from three-point range, and 2 of 2 free throws in 28 minutes.
The senior guard also started the next two games, scoring five points in a 64-59 loss at Evansville Saturday and a team-high 14 points (with six rebounds) in a 72-57 win over Illinois State Tuesday.
In 14 games this season, including four starts, Carter is averaging 6.1 points, 2.6 rebounds and 18.2 minutes per game while hitting 37.3 percent from the field and 84.2 percent of his free throws (second best on the team).
The Sycamores, 7-7 overall and 2-1 in the MVC, will host Northern Iowa Friday at 6 p.m. Perry County time.
