Bulldogs beat Lanesville

CANNELTON—Cannelton hit 26 of 45 free throws to beat Lanesville 53-39 in girls basketball Monday.

Neither team shot well from the field (Lanesville 23.3 percent, Cannelton 30.2 percent) or the free-throw line (Lanesville 42.1 percent,  Cannelton 57.8 percent). But the Bulldogs made up for quality with quantity at the line.

Sarah Powers was one Bulldog who did shoot well at the line. She hit 13 of 16 free throws and led the team with 19 points.

She raised her season free-throw percentage slightly to 77.9 percent (88 of 113).
