PERRY COUNTY – With the Ohio River still well above flood stage, Perry County commissioners have extended an emergency proclamation until noon Tuesday.

Residents are asked to remain alert to rapidly rising floodwaters and to refrain from traveling on water-covered roads.

The Ohio River at the Cannelton Locks and Dam was at 45.7 feet Wednesday and is expected to fall to 44.7 feet by Friday morning.

High water still has Indiana 66 from Sulphur to Cannelton closed. Also closed are Indiana 70 in Derby and Indiana 166 from Rocky Point to Tobinsport. Many county roads in low-lying areas are also closed.
